Chapter 39: 039

They got to the mansion and Alpha Mitch got down from the car and carried him into the house with a frown on his face.

The guards waiting outside bowed as he walked by, they were seeing him for the first time in weeks and the look on his face scared them.

He got into the room and gently dropped Tristan on the bed, contrary to his previous actions and expression.

Tristan braced himself, waiting for a scolding but he instead went to the small shelf at the other end of the room and got out a little first aid box.

Tristan watched him as he brought out an ointment and took a small amount to apply to his forehead.

Tristan drew back but he gripped the back of his head to bring him closer.

"It’s hurt" Tristan cried out and that made his grip relax. He looked at his teary eyes and his heart wrenched silently.

"Then you shouldn’t have left the house if you would have hurt yourself!" Alpha Mitch reprimanded him but his voice was soft even if he wanted to yell at him.

"I’m not an egg, I won’t break if I go out. I have always lived like this" Tristan returned in a timid but bold voice.

Alpha Mitch couldn’t believe his ears, his chest heaved heavily as he held onto himself.

He had spent days working himself close to death and barely ate anything because he wanted to forget about the Omega and if he had succeeded he would have asked Gale to send him back to his parents but things got worse on the third night when he started hallucinating and saw the Omega in everything he was doing.

But he still carried on nevertheless until today that Gale said he couldn’t find the Omega, he had dropped everything and ran over. He had driven like the world was about to crash on his back.

"Do you even know the risk you are in by just being married to me? I do everything in my power to keep you safe but...". He trailed off but straightened his body and looked down at him.

Words can’t explain everything and with each passing days the gap between them grew. He was scared of losing him, he was scared that one day he would wake up and he would be gone but he can never admit that.

He left the room without another word, Tristan sighed weakly as the door closed behind him. He had thought he would discard him soon since he hated him that much, but his life was only getting harder the more he stayed close to him.

"What happened?" Alpha Mitch finally asked Gale when he met him waiting in his study.

Gale hesitated before he responded but he hoped the Alpha would get angry at the Omega after what happened and send him away.

He deserves better and the problematic Omega isn’t bringing any benefit.The pack members can wait, the Pack elders would wait.

"Another Alpha arrived and he denied knowing me. I wanted to avoid and I cannot force him" Gale dropped carefully while watching the Alpha’s expression for the slightest change and to his surprise the Alpha dismissed him.

Tristan was once again at a dilemma after the Alpha left for the next few days. But this time he refused to stay at home. He fought tooth and nail with Gale before he was able to go to school.

And what made it worse was Gale’s constant anger towards him and just like today.

It’s the birthday party Nita had talked about and he was planning on attending. He needed any means he could get to take his mind off the Alpha that had totally casted him aside.

"I will be coming back home alone today," Tristan announced when the car pulled up to the school entrance.

Gale took a moment to think about what he said before he spoke up.

"And why is that?". He asked carefully, while looking outside the car. He doesn’t want to sound angry or anything because it could lead to another argument.

His relationship with the Omega had grown cold and estranged over the last month. He had initially pitied the Omega for ending up with an Alpha like Alpha Mitch but after the first few problems they encountered he just knew within his heart that things would never be the same until he is gone away from their lives but that would never be a reality since the Alpha is smitten by him.

"I will finish later than usual, don’t bother coming for me." Tristan replied and got out of the car.

Gale watched him walk away and disappeared among the crowd of other students with mixed feelings.

When did the timid Omega evolve to that sharp tongued Omega?.

Their classes ended earlier than usual since it’s a Friday.

Tristan had packed an outfit from the mansion and Nita expressed her excitement and gave him a thumbs up.

They hurried to her apartment after school and used the next few hours to prepare for the party, their cab arrived a few minutes after six.

Tristan was dressed in a black mesh undershirt and a glittery jacket, paired with a tailored pair of trousers. Nita was dressed in a short pink dress and a knee-length booth.

If they weren’t both Omegas, they would have made the cutest couple.

"How I wish that Alpha was here to see you. He would be grovelling at your feet" Nita commented as the driver started the car.

Tristan looked out the window to hide the blush that stained his cheeks.

He would give anything to see that happen, but that was only possible if wishes were horses.

"Let’s stay together throughout the party okay? And let’s have some fun too". Nita reminded him happily and he nodded.

But as the car drove up to the venue, his heart skipped a beat and he could feel a sense of dread drape over him but he shook it off and they both got out of the car with their arms intertwined.
