Huo Qi tilted his head back drinking, his porcelain white neck exceptionally long and beautiful. As the liquid slid down, his Adam’s apple bobbed.

The line from his jaw to his ear was smooth and clear, and under the daylight, the blue veins beneath his ears vaguely appeared.

After finishing the water in one breath, Huo Qi’s lips were still glistening with wetness. He raised his hand and lightly touched them, only to look up and meet the gaze of the man on the bed.

The family didn’t think much of it; whatever the couple preferred was fine.

That night, Huo Qi hesitated for a long time before finally coming over to speak a few words with her, politely greeting her in Lu Xiao’s presence before leaving.

She didn’t know his relationship with Professor Xiao, just assumed they were friends from their time in Qinghai.

Late at night.

When it was quiet, Wen Xian snuggled into Lu Xiao’s embrace, rubbing against his chest. On the single hospital bed, two people lay closely together.

Lu Xiao intended to find a folding chair to sleep on, but Wen Xian wouldn’t allow it, reluctant to have him sleep in such a spot.

After all, she hadn’t undergone surgery or had any wounds; it was merely a mild concussion, so she insisted that he sleep with her at night.
