Tang San’s Twin Sister
Chapter 158

"We had run in with the local spirit hall convent," Damian explained. "It involved a retired mafioso and a retired spirit master, who hit it off and decided that Gale is their new rescue puppy project."

"I am not a project or a rescue puppy." Gale objected. "But yeah. The last run-in with that tag team ended with missing fingers for the other party. I want to point out, though, that the convent is not a spirit hall convent, but rather a place where older influence holders or the wives of deceased influence holders enjoy their retirement. So be careful of nuns, you never know, they might just lighten you of choice body parts."

"They do adore you, though," Damian said with a dry huff. "Ever since you produced the first working prothesis, they have been trying to convince you to make weaponry again. Now, where is Yu Hua?" Damian asked and then hung up his mantle, navigating the chaos with practiced moves.

"Still Angry." Yin and Jiang said at the same time, and both men's shoulders seemed to drop.

"Well, what were we expecting?" Gale muttered. "It was obvious."

"Yeah. Kinda." Damian agreed. "I just...you know, hoped, like, that he would not be that angry at this point."

"You two drugged him and then smuggled him on a ship heading to Poseidon." Tang Yin pointed out.

"We did it to help him," Gale muttered meekly, and Jiang sighed.

"I think he knows that, or he would not have sent so much stuff along with us for you." He said, and then Tang Yin took out a pouch.

"Money." She said. "In case you need it." Then she took out an entire pack and roll of papers. "And Blueprints, drawn in fine detail, with designs and suggestions."

Gale blinked. His hands trembled as he touched the papers. The carefully drawn designs are unlike his messy ones. The fine sketches and the many, many details noted.

"He is a fool," Damian whispered. "Such a goddamn fool."

"You are his friends. He worries about you...even when he is still fuming." Yin pointed out.

"Yes, sounds like him," Gale muttered, and Damian let out a dry laugh.

"Quite right." For a moment, it was silent as none of them knew what to say.

"Either way." Damian clapped his hands. "How long are the two of you staying?" He asked, and the two looked at each other.

"Not long," Jiang answered, and Yin nodded along.

"Only passing through. Bringing you Yu Huas' stuff while we were at it. I have about a year to pass my second sea god exams, but first, I need a fifth spirit ring. There is one I am aiming for...Jiang...he knows where to get them so...yeah."

"So it's become unavoidable," Gale muttered. "As far as I know, you always avoided killing spirit beasts."

"Yeah. I know it's silly and hypocritical in a way...but knowing that all spirit beasts can become human..." She looked at Jiang. "...and I don't like taking a life."

"I understand that." Damian's gaze turned somewhat distant. "Although sometimes it's unavoidable. Either way, I see why you have to hurry. Are you making a pit Stop at Tang Sans as well?"

"Yeah." She nodded. "If it's possible."

"Then you will need to head to the Soul Hall. They are hosting the Spirit Master tournament there, and Shrek is making headlines. Wait, I have a newspaper somewhere." Damian searched around and put a few papers aside until he found what he was looking for, and handed her a sheet of paper.

"Here you go. Your brother is a celebrity now."

"San." She took the newspaper and read the first Headline.

The Talent of the Century.

14-year-old Spirit Master Tang San makes waves.

At barely fourteen, young spirit master Tang San is proving to everyone just how exceptional he is. Alongside his equally Talented comrades from Shrek Academy, a school that recently merged with the much larger Soul Master Academy, he, along with team captain Dai Mubai, has led his young team of spirit masters to exceptional victory...

She stopped reading. The paper was merely a week old.

A smile was on her lips. "Say, can I keep this article?" She asked Damian.

"Sure, go ahead." He answered. "I already read it. Oh, just so you know. This is only one of many in this tone."

"Hehe." Yin grinned. "It seems I am having one hell of a brother."

"Well," Gale muttered behind them. "Technically. I believe they will fall out of all clouds when they figure out that Tang San has a Sister who is his match."

"His match." Yin looked at the paper. "I got plenty catching up to do first. I am nowhere near his equal yet. I mean, he is pretty famous now, I am just a little unknown roadside spirit master." She blinked and made large puppy eyes. "Helpless."

All three in the room took a step backwards, eyeing her sceptically. "You," Gale said, then he started coughing before stopping abruptly.

"Wait a second. If you are visiting Yin, then he will see your missing arm." Gale muttered, paling slightly. In front of him, Damian grimaced.

"Damn. Yeah." Damian said, and Jiang, next to him, stiffened up.

"Nah, I'll explain. It shouldn't be too much," she said. "I mean, it already happened. He can hardly worry over Poseidon and the world over what has already happened."

"No," Jiang said, sounding a touch off. "He will not worry. Tang San will outright threaten murder and then wander off to annihilate whatever was the reason for your loss of limb."

Tang Yin leaned back and tilted her head. "But the question was limb or life, he'll get over it..."She quieted a moment and then added. "I hope." It turned silent once again in the room when Damian got a glass of water and drank it, looking at it as if he hoped it might have been a good whiskey.

"Dinner." Gale interruped, "Food."

"Good Idea." Damian agreed. "Food solves almost everything."
