Chapter 24: Annihilating Chunyang! The Shadow Looming Over Tang!

In Youzhou, Qin Qiong and his men stood frozen, hearts pounding. The lion before them was no longer the Qing Shi Demon King they knew. Once a savage, bloodthirsty fiend, he now radiated the majesty of an ancient immortal beast, as if born in primordial times, wielding the laws of heaven and earth. His transformation was beyond comprehension.

Qin Qiong barked, “Huaiyu, recall the troops! All forces, prepare for battle!” Clang! Shields slammed into the ground, forming layered walls. The 300,000 Crimson Sky troops, gripping spears, gazed up at the colossal creature blotting half the sky, legs trembling. Chunyang’s Five Disciples were equally stunned, their cultivation heightening their awe. They sensed a trace of ascension’s immortal fate in Qing Shi—akin to the Four Divine Beasts, a path to godhood.

“This can’t be!” Sect Leader Li Wangsheng muttered, incredulous. “With today’s sparse spiritual qi, how could such a beast emerge?” Qing Shi’s leap from mere demon to immortal-rooted entity defied logic, surpassing even the True Martial Emperor’s divine touch. The Five Disciples stood petrified, bones creaking in the eerie silence that gripped the world.

Qing Shi, oblivious to their shock, reveled in his newfound power, demonic energy surging like a river. He’d trusted the Demon Ancestor’s promise of transformation, but this exceeded all expectations. Clenching a massive claw, he felt capable of shattering realms. The True Martial Emperor’s divine will? He could crush it in three moves. “Following the Demon Ancestor was my life’s greatest choice!” he roared, his gaze shifting to Qin Qiong’s group.

That glance chilled them to the bone. Li Wangsheng drew his sword. “General Qin, he’s beyond mortal soldiers. Avoid needless losses—retreat! We’ll hold him!” Like Shu Mountain, Chunyang stood for justice, risking all for the common good. Qin Qiong nodded. “Withdraw!” The army retreated swiftly.

Qing Shi watched, his abyssal eyes dripping with disdain, but made no move. Li Wangsheng shouted, “Attack!” The Five Disciples soared toward him. Yet, Qing Shi merely exhaled, unleashing a cyan tornado. Whoosh! Caught off-guard, the five spat blood, hurled into the distance.

Qin Qiong’s scalp prickled. Chunyang’s Five, once capable of subduing any Demon King, were dispatched in a single breath. What a terrifying evolution! Qing Shi laughed. “Worthy of the Demon Ancestor’s gift!” Glancing at Qin Qiong, he scoffed, “Lucky for you, I have urgent business and no time to waste.” The Demon Ancestor had ordered them to Kunlun Mountain for a grand task post-transformation. Unwaveringly loyal, Qing Shi departed.

As he left, Qin Qiong’s men exhaled, shirts soaked with sweat. Qing Shi’s power—unleashing disasters with a gesture—shattered their worldview. Worse, he was just one of ten. If the others underwent similar metamorphoses, what then? Qin Qiong’s blood ran cold. The Ten Demon Kings, fully transformed, could topple Tang. He stood, voice firm. “Send word to His Majesty: Stop the other Demon Kings at all costs!”
