Tales of the Endless Empire
Chapter 192: Status Screen (1)

Before looking at his other passive skill, Eclipsar’s Intuition, Thalion quickly ascended to the chamber where he had placed the base’s control crystal and initiated the group teleportation to the next stage. It would take nearly an hour until the entire base could be transported to the fifth stage—plenty of time for him to review all his new abilities.

Thalion was already behind schedule, to the point that both Kaldrek and Maike had sent messages asking if everything was alright. He hadn’t expected the fusion to take this long. But now that this final task was taken care of, he turned his full attention back to his status screen.

Eclipsar’s Intuition (Ascendant)

A manifestation of pure predatory instinct, this ability allows an Eclipsari to sense the flow of battle before it even unfolds. Their intuition transcends mortal perception, sharpening into an almost prophetic awareness. This skill grants an innate understanding of danger, deception, and opportunity, enabling the user to react before threats fully manifest. Beyond combat, Eclipsar’s Intuition enhances perception on a grander scale, allowing the user to glimpse fragments of potential futures shrouded in darkness. However, the deeper one gazes into the abyss of foresight, the greater the burden on the mind.

This was interesting. At the start, the description briefly referenced the Umbral Predator’s Instincts, but then it fully transformed into something else—something even greater. Was it truly possible for him to see parts of the future? That sounded incredibly powerful. But how was he supposed to trigger this ability? It was a passive skill, after all.

Perhaps it functioned as a mix—some aspects always active, while others required deliberate activation. Normally, he would have tested it immediately, but the last sentence gave him pause. He had no idea what kind of burden came with staring too long into the abyss. He couldn’t afford a major backlash right now.

His title already granted him a sense of approaching danger, so there was no need to take unnecessary risks. It would be better to ask the voice of the system about it next week. By then, they would likely be deep in trouble, but this still seemed like the best course of action. Thalion doubted they would be attacked by undead right away—unless their spawn location was particularly unfortunate. However, he trusted that the system wouldn’t place them too close to an enemy faction.

For now, his priority was testing his new form’s capabilities. Losing an eye was manageable, but missing an arm was a serious disadvantage. He planned to attempt combat with only one arm, but given his current situation, it didn’t seem promising.

What did seem promising were his new abilities. He couldn't wait to unleash their full destructive potential.

With one last glance at his reflection, he noticed something he had previously overlooked—his claws. The sleek, obsidian talons extending from his remaining fingers looked far deadlier than he had initially thought.

Letting out a final sigh, he shifted into his human form to check his status screen. There wouldn’t be many changes, but seeing those big numbers would surely be satisfying.

Thalion had always felt a bit more invigorated when using his human form, but he hadn’t expected to gain such a significant boost in vitality. During his time in the Golden Palace, he had learned that vitality was crucial for blood mages, as it could enhance their blood-based abilities. The fact that the Sanguine Archon naturally possessed such an immense amount of vitality only served as proof of this connection.

What surprised him even more was the sheer amount of strength he retained in his human form. He had always been powerful, but surpassing five hundred in raw strength was beyond his expectations. However, what unsettled him slightly was the fact that many of his former abilities lagged behind in rarity. He would have to refine and evolve them in the future to maintain their effectiveness.

With that thought in mind, he shifted into Eagly’s to inspect his status screen once more.

Eagly pleasantly surprised him. His stats were significantly higher than he had anticipated. Normally, Eagly's growth focused on Agility, Perception, and a bit of Endurance and Strength. However, the unexpected increase in Intelligence and Wisdom caught Thalion off guard. It couldn’t be solely attributed to the plants he had consumed over the past weeks.

Granted, he had also ingested a few elixirs, but that alone shouldn’t have accounted for such a drastic change. The most likely explanation was the fusion with the Storm Crystal. Regardless of the cause, Thalion was more than pleased with Eagly’s progress. With such well-rounded stats, he was increasingly confident that Eagly had a strong chance of evolving into a wyvern.

Perhaps he should have paid closer attention to the status screen all along. Seeing these remarkable stat increases filled him with more satisfaction than he had expected. Now, only one form remained to be checked before it was time for field tests on the fifth stage.
