Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might -
Chapter 321 - 316 Inquiring
Chapter 321: Chapter 316 Inquiring
After living on the ship for nearly a month, Leon finally returned to his loyal Watchtower Port.
Honestly speaking, Watchtower Port wasn’t as good as Bern, the capital of the Belen Kingdom, nor was it better than Iron Port. But as the saying goes, "The golden nest and silver nest are no better than your own humble abode." Stepping onto the docks of Watchtower Port and looking at the familiar buildings all around, Leon felt an immense wave of comfort.
Leon wasn’t a Red Dragon at heart; he was basically a Human. He didn’t mind wandering around Watchtower Port with Edwin and Isily, talking endlessly about how Watchtower Port had originally been just a small port city. Ever since he claimed it as his domain, its scale had expanded several times over... His hospitality might be fake, but his exhibitionism was certainly genuine.
After making a round through Watchtower Port and taking a look, it seemed his Engineering Minister had been slacking off. The government building in Watchtower Port still wasn’t completed after all this time. Only then did Leon take the two of them back to Volcanic Island.
"Take a bath first, have some food... If you need anything, just call the maid. Rest well for now, and later I’ll introduce my people to you and arrange your roles."
After settling the two of them down, Leon immediately ran to the Volcano Top to soak in a lava bath.
After all the travel weariness, he needed to rest as well.
"Brother, you’re finally back. I missed you so much!" Salovis, his sister who usually loved to slack off, was the first to appear before Leon. There was nothing more important to her than hugging her brother’s golden thigh.
"Cut it out." Leon didn’t even look at Salovis, his foolishly naive younger sister. "Don’t squeeze into the pool. You’ve gained weight again."
Salovis shamelessly replied, "That’s because I turned my longing for you into appetite."
"Edwin still hasn’t died?" Anglistra arrived slightly later than Salovis. "Did he come back with you?"
"Brother personally went to fetch him. As long as he’s alive, how dare he not come?" Salovis interjected. She was a true Red Dragon, a bona fide Evil Dragon—kidnapping and blackmail were no big deal to her.
"I need to find him." Anglistra still hadn’t forgotten about the funding Edwin tricked out of her. Red Dragons held grudges; fifty years was nothing to them.
Leon finally opened his eyes, reminding them: "I don’t care about any unpleasant history between you and Edwin. Now Edwin is the talent I went to great lengths to bring back from the Belen Kingdom, and I have big plans for him. You may reminisce if you want, but anything beyond that, I won’t hesitate to empty your lairs."
"You know full well what he did to me." Salovis was already mostly tamed, but Anglistra, proud as ever, couldn’t accept that her offspring was stronger than her. She had always been less cooperative. "Just letting this slide... Where does that leave my pride?"
"So you want to put me in a bind?" Leon replied flatly. He could have made some concessions to Anglistra to resolve this matter, but he chose not to. He preferred to suppress her periodically.
Anglistra said nothing, storming off in a huff.
Just as Anglistra left, Tassera arrived.
Cecilia arrived fashionably late.

Meanwhile, Isily had taken a bath, changed into clean clothes, and was savoring a sumptuous meal.
Prior to this, she never would have imagined that a Red Dragon would own a villa, complete with a team of maids. Judging from the numerous traces of daily life scattered everywhere, it was evident that this Red Dragon frequently lived in a humanoid form. How could a Red Dragon live like a Silver Dragon? Truly ridiculous.
"Miss, you are the master’s honored guest—if you need anything, just let me know." The Tiefling maid, who seemed rather self-impressed in Watchtower Port, was as ordinary as could be on Volcanic Island.
Isily, sharp as ever, rolled her eyes and immediately thought of using the Tiefling maid to gather intelligence. Clearing her throat, she said, "Just so happens, I have a few questions for you."
"What kind of person is your master?" Isily asked as she ate roasted duck, poached chicken, tomato beef stew... These dishes she had never tried before intrigued her immensely.
The Tiefling maid, suspecting nothing, answered confidently: "The master is dignified, intelligent, kind-hearted..."
Isily rubbed her forehead as the Tiefling maid spent a full minute singing the praises of the Red Dragon. She felt somewhat foolish—how could she have expected a maid to give fair and impartial evaluations of her master? She added, "Did your master truly establish a kingdom?"
"Yes." The Tiefling maid replied proudly, "Zhen Dan Kingdom was founded by our master."
"People actually accepted governance by a Red Dragon?" Isily was utterly baffled.
Hearing this, the Tiefling maid, no fool, immediately grew more guarded.
"You should clearly understand—I was brought here by your master," Isily reminded her. "I am your master’s esteemed guest."
The Tiefling maid nodded lightly.
After organizing her thoughts a bit, the Tiefling maid explained, "Because the master is kinder than those aristocrats. The master freed all the slaves and doesn’t tax the impoverished. For those who can’t even earn half a silver coin a day, their salary doesn’t exceed the minimum taxable income. He enjoys punishing corrupt officials because they tarnish his reputation..."
The Tiefling maid spoke eloquently, leaving Isily stunned and feeling as though her worldview had been turned upside down... Good heavens, what kind of wicked Red Dragon was this? Wasn’t he even kinder than a virtuous dragon?
Isily studied the Tiefling maid carefully. She might be hiding something, but there was no evidence of lying or guilt in her expression.
"Has your master seriously never done anything evil?" Isily paused and reframed her question, "To put it differently—he’s probably killed quite a few people in Watchtower Port, hasn’t he?"
"Only those who didn’t know their place," the Tiefling maid said through gritted teeth. "Those who secretly tried to overthrow the master’s rule, those who betrayed him, the spies, those who feigned obedience to his orders, those who expanded their corruption thinking he wouldn’t notice..."
At this point, Isily felt reassured that no Red Dragon could possibly be *that* pure of heart. Relieved, she decided not to ask further about Leon’s affairs, opting instead to observe him up close at the right time.
Having heard Leon mention some details about his kingdom before, she asked, "How many dragons does your master command?"
That wasn’t classified information; everyone in Watchtower Port knew. The Tiefling maid recounted what she knew: The Blue Dragon was the Queen; the Green Dragon was the Chief Maid as well as Prime Minister; the Brass Dragon was the Engineering Minister...
"He really has a Brass Dragon subordinate, and even a Bronze Dragon..." Isily was truly astonished. "Metal Dragons actually working for a Chromatic Dragon?"
The Brass Dragon was reportedly a chatterbox and an old man, which didn’t interest Isily at all.
However, the Bronze Dragon—known as the savior of the poor, scourge of criminals, and righteous Knight Lady Fiora—was surely the Metal Knight Leon had mentioned. She fascinated Isily immensely.
Isily started daydreaming about Fiora.
Meanwhile, Fiora suddenly sneezed, her sixth sense alerting her to potential trouble.
