Chapter 207: Chapter 206 Spiritual Energy

Leon figured something out and was in a rather good mood. He watched Cecilia fly back from Tassera’s Mage Tower and asked curiously, "Did you ask the Ancient Jade Dragon?"

"Can he help you activate your bloodline?" Leon didn’t think much of it. A mere Ancient Jade Dragon—what could he possibly accomplish?

Cecilia tilted her head and glanced at Leon, complaining sarcastically, "He’s just an Ancient Jade Dragon, nothing more. Sure, he’s lived longer and knows more, but in terms of battle strength, he’s probably weaker than you. He’s not the Gem Dragon God, so of course he doesn’t have abilities like bloodline activation."

"If you were Sadivo’s reincarnation, a Ruby Dragon would do just as well," Cecilia said, staring eagerly at Leon.

"I’m sorry, but I’m not Sadivo’s reincarnation, and I’m not a Ruby Dragon either." Leon said it casually, utterly unapologetic—it was all just a joke to him. "So, does that mean there’s no chance?"

"Not necessarily no chance; I’d say it’s more like a slim one." Cecilia drooped her eyelids, her thorny crown extending from her brow to her spine, sagging listlessly, making her look a bit downcast. "He suggested I interact with spiritual energy more when I have time; maybe there’s a chance to awaken psychic powers."

"You should give it a shot. After all, it’s not like you have much going on," Leon said nonchalantly.

He knew Cecilia had essentially taken over the forest—of course, it was limited to the northern patch near Watchtower Port. The area was much larger than the forest he used to rule, stretching for dozens of kilometers. Her lair had been fully constructed, and she had just begun hoarding treasure. She wasn’t like him, though—he’d plunder tens of thousands of Gold Coins at a time. Her stash was far more modest...

He was quite idle every day, so Cecilia couldn’t be too busy either. Other than eating, drinking, and sleeping, her main duties were patrolling her territory, disciplining her subordinates, or fiddling with her garden.

"I want to give it a try too, but how do I even get exposed to spiritual energy?" Cecilia shook her head, her thoughts adrift. "Does Master know spiritual energy?"

"Not one bit," Leon denied straightforwardly. "But doesn’t the Ancient Jade Dragon know spiritual energy? You could ask him—does he ignore you?"

"There’s no issue money can’t solve," said Leon, a man hailing from Earth, a society obsessed with churning money—a place where wealth was king and one dared ridicule poverty but not vice. In his worldview, anything solvable with money wasn’t a real problem, while anything free often deserved suspicion. "As long as you’re willing to pay, he’ll undoubtedly help you."

"I remember Tassera’s book mentioned—" Leon pondered for a moment, "Jade Dragons are quite unique among Gem Dragons; they prefer coins to gemstones and are obsessed with collecting unusual types of currency. They also have a penchant for relics, especially those of historical significance."

Unlike Leon, who had little regard for money and would readily throw down ten thousand Gold Coins to help Tassera build her Mage Tower, Cecilia behaved like a proper True Dragon—always taking but never giving. Back then, she’d scoffed loudly and said, "Don’t even think about it; not a single cent. Dream on if you think I’ll give you money!"

"Now that I think about it, spiritual energy isn’t such a big deal." Cecilia sneered, "If spiritual energy was really that amazing, how did the Gem Dragon King meet his demise? Compare the fame of Gem Dragons to Metal Dragons and Colorful Dragons—they’re far eclipsed... Spiritual Step is just Mysterious Steps, and Confusing Heart Breath is no match for my Poison Breath."

"Sour grapes," Leon said, chuckling.

Truth hurts more than anything. Cecilia slumped her shoulders and looked pitifully at Leon, complaining, "Master, are you really that heartless? Is it so difficult to comfort your servant in her time of need?"

"Alright, alright," Leon lifted his paw and gently patted the Green Dragon’s head. "There, there."

Cecilia sniffled softly.

"Gem Dragons possess spiritual energy, but that doesn’t mean only Gem Dragons do." Leon explained, "Plenty of other races can access spiritual energy too. You could look to them."

"Like who..." Already a little rattled by her earlier disappointment, Cecilia stared expectantly at Leon, now relying entirely on his suggestions.

"Mind Flayers and their Elder Brain, for instance—those monsters supposedly from the future," Leon answered with a laugh. "But with your strength, you might handle two Mind Flayers at best. As for the Elder Brain, don’t even think about it—if you see one, run like your life depends on it."

"Githyanki and Githzerai are known for their spiritual energy too, but finding them means taking a trip through the Star Realm." Leon paused before adding, "Gray Dwarves—you could seek out the Gray Dwarves."

Leon briefly recalled the history of Gray Dwarves.

Gray Dwarves were once ordinary Dwarves. Their insatiable greed led them to dig deeper and deeper, eventually encountering fearsome Mind Flayers. Enslaved by Illithids for countless generations, they only regained their freedom after much hardship.

However, the Mind Flayers’ long-term enslavement had permanently transformed them. Generations of mental surgeries and physical modifications had honed their mental fortitude, granting them mastery over the Mind Flayers’ original power—spiritual energy...

"Right, Gray Dwarves do use spiritual energy!" Cecilia’s eyes lit up. "We could capture some Gray Dwarves."

"Ordinary Gray Dwarves won’t do—you’d need a Gray Dwarf Psychic Master or a Gray Dwarf Soul Blade Master," Leon reminded her.

"It’s all the same," Cecilia said, dismissively. She was still a young Green Dragon, cautious around Mind Flayers and hopeless against an Elder Brain, but as far as lowly Gray Dwarves were concerned, she was unconcerned.

"But where can we find Gray Dwarves?" Cecilia asked. "Is there any in the Lost Plateau?"

"The Lost Plateau only has Dwarves, not Gray Dwarves," Leon mused aloud, nodding slightly. "Any place with Dwarves probably has Gray Dwarves too. Gray Dwarves love sneaking into Dwarven settlements to ambush them, or spending weeks tunneling into their treasure vaults to swipe an entire clan’s riches."

"If that doesn’t work, we’d have to look in the Dark Territory, which is teeming with Gray Dwarves." Leon clapped his paws together. "Ward—the Evil Wolf, the Werewolf—you remember how I met him, right? When I went to the Dark Territory, he acted as my guide... If you want to explore the Dark Territory, you could have him lead the way."

"But isn’t the entrance to the Dark Territory in Crossroads City?" Cecilia had heard about Leon’s adventure to the Dark Territory—the refined gold for forging the Catastrophe Blade and the Magma Land Shark were spoils from that trip. "That’s so far away. Even if I find some Gray Dwarves and enslave them, bringing them back would be inconvenient."

"There are Dark Territory entrances scattered all over the world," Leon declared confidently. "The Lost Plateau must have one, and Watchtower Port nearby surely has one too. You could send someone to search."

"Hmm, I’ll give it a try," Cecilia said, nodding repeatedly as she listened.
