Chapter 195: Chapter 194 Yugros Demon

"Yugros Demon?" Leon muttered to himself.

"Yes, Yugros Demon." Tassera emerged from the bathroom.

"You don’t know about Yugros Demons?" She detected unfamiliarity in Leon’s voice. "I thought you knew everything."

"How could I possibly know everything... I’m not some omniscient guru." Leon ignored Tassera’s teasing.

"I know about Demons. Demons are primarily divided into Obiris Demons and Tanari Demons," Leon explained, furrowing his brow. "Tanari Demons are currently the most populous demon species in the Abyss. Their legions are spread across nearly every layer of the chaotic planes, evolving from the souls of chaotic and evil mortals."

"Devils are just Devils; they don’t seem to have subdivisions. I don’t really know much about them myself." Leon thought he had a good grasp of Demons and Devils but suddenly realized he only knew so much. "I can’t detail it precisely, but I do know the lowest-ranking Devil is a Lemure, and they advance in strength through promotions, with Pit Fiends being the highest tier."

"As for Yugros Demons..." Leon scratched his head and smiled bitterly. "The name is familiar, but I can’t immediately recall what they’re all about."

"I’m not too familiar with Yugros Demons myself... Can’t remember whether I heard or read about them somewhere. The first Yugros Demon was created by the Night Hag Sisterhood," Tassera walked into the study, stark naked.

"Demons are chaotic evil, Devils are lawful evil, and Yugros Demons are neutral evil," Tassera said as she flipped through a bookshelf. "They’re different from Demons because they can communicate. But unlike Devils, they almost never tell the truth."

"Basically, they’re fickle and treacherous fiends—symbols of greed. They’re infamous for acting as mercenaries, switching their allegiances on a whim... I’ve heard they always ask themselves a question before serving anyone—" Tassera chuckled, "’What’s in it for me?’"

"I was talking about that sword earlier. It looks unmistakably like a weapon from the Lower Planes, yet there’s no connection to Demons or Devils..." Tassera finally found the book she was looking for. "Are you even listening to me?"

"I am, I am." Leon immediately replied, unable to take his eyes off Tassera, who was a rare sight.

It wasn’t until water droplets fell onto the book that Tassera realized she’d rushed over mid-bath, spurred by thoughts of Yugros Demons. Her hair was still damp, her body bare. She pursed her lips and asked, "Is it a good view?"

"What ’good view’ are you talking about?" Leon kept his composure.

Tassera hesitated, then decided to let it go. She put the book down and left the study. Soon, she returned, now wearing a moon-white robe and sporting slightly damp, tousled hair. Leon, engrossed in the book she’d just laid down, asked, "Where were we?"

"We were talking about that sword," Leon replied.

Tassera remembered, saying, "Right. That sword is clearly from the Lower Planes, yet it doesn’t align with the styles of Demons or Devils... If it’s a weapon of the Yugros Demons, that would make perfect sense."

"Without some knowledge, no one could identify where that sword came from." Tassera couldn’t help but sigh. "It seems I need to study more."

"I don’t care about the sword’s origins—I care about how strong those Yugros Demons are," Leon said. "How do they compare to Demons and Devils?"

"Definitely weaker than Demons and Devils. Otherwise, they’d have established some major power instead of acting as mercenaries, drifting between different factions," Tassera explained. "The commander of the Yugros Demon Blood War battalions, the Uteros Demon, is roughly equivalent to a Judgement Demon or Ice Demon."

Leon got the gist and felt reassured before asking curiously, "So how exactly did a Yugros Demon weapon end up in your possession?"

"After my recent retreat, I went back to my shop to check things out. Coincidentally, someone came in, holding that sword, asking if I’d buy it..." Tassera grinned. "Something this unique? Of course, I bought it. Got it for a hundred Gold Coins."

"I asked him where he’d found the sword. He said it was in some ruin but wouldn’t specify which ruin." Tassera nodded. "Still, he mentioned there were other similar items. I’m waiting for his updates."

"That sword looks powerful. Why would he want to sell it?" Leon recalled.

He compared it to gaming logic—powerful equipment is a must-keep item. Selling off such treasures for money instead of using them never made sense.

"Why do you think?" Tassera shot back.

"Either he needed money, or..." Leon speculated further. "That sword obviously came from the Lower Planes. It’s clearly evil, which might make others suspect him of being a Cultist. All in all, it’s probably inconvenient to possess."

"You’re half right, but that’s not all," Tassera said. "It drains blood, stealing the life force of its enemies."

"I love blood-draining gear." Leon remarked, thinking no self-respecting warrior would pass up equipment that regenerates health.

"If there’s no enemy blood, it’ll drain the owner’s blood instead," Tassera added. "It’s a cursed weapon."

"Makes sense... A bloodsucking sword that steals enemy blood but also takes its owner’s blood is a pretty common trope," Leon said. "Wonder if it could drain my blood even if I resist."

"If you resist, it wouldn’t be able to drain your blood." Tassera said, looking at Leon. "Do you even realize how strong you are now?"

"With someone as powerful and evil as you—a Red Dragon—it seems fitting to imagine you’d be the mastermind behind spreading bloodsucking swords, just to watch mortals fight over them. When they couldn’t resist the sword’s curse, they’d kill friends and family in despair for your amusement," Tassera quickly invented a whole plot.

"Let me clarify—I am powerful, but I am not evil. I would never do such a boring thing," Leon countered. "I prefer happier endings, where the Prince and Princess live happily ever after."

"Speaking of which, didn’t you draw the Flame Card? The Flame Card’s effect is that a powerful Devil views you as their mortal enemy. They’ll attempt to break your will, ruin your life, savor your suffering, and ultimately kill you," Leon suddenly remembered. "Is it possible that cursed sword is part of an elaborate plot against you?"

"I’m a dragon, I’m a mage, and I don’t use swords." Tassera dismissed. "You’re just overthinking."

"Better safe than sorry." Leon shrugged.

"You’re right," Tassera admitted, her enthusiasm renewed. "Once I investigate the origins of that sword, I’ll know its secrets."
