Chapter 203: Chapter 203: An Unexpected Encounter with Qingyue at a Gathering

The official recording time for the next episode is scheduled to happen in three days, leaving the actors only three days to rehearse.

The rehearsal process in the practice room is also a major highlight for the program’s editing team. Starting tomorrow, all participating actors will undergo a three-day group rehearsal in the practice room.

After filming that day, Chu Xi invited the guests from the "Rural Adventures" team for a group dinner.

Sang Ning initially didn’t want to go, but she couldn’t withstand Qin Kai’s relentless persuasion.

She truly hadn’t anticipated that Qin Kai was such a party enthusiast in private—she hadn’t sensed it during the recording for "Rural Adventures."

Shen Yi, as always, simply responded with "Whatever," which Qin Kai instantly interpreted as agreement.

The dinner was held at a high-end private club. This club was known for its strong discretion, making it the first choice for celebrity gatherings.

Upon entering the club, they had just reached the elevator area when the closing doors of the previous elevator left only a tiny gap.

Was Sang Ning imagining things? She thought she saw Qingyue’s figure in the elevator heading up. Beside him, someone was holding his arm.

However, by the time Sang Ning arrived at the elevator, its doors had already closed except for that narrow slit, so she couldn’t make out who the person beside Qingyue was.

All she could glimpse through the gap was a slender, fair arm adorned with an expensive jade bracelet. The casually raised fingers were decorated with strikingly vivid and intricate nail art.

As the elevator doors shut completely, Qingyue turned to speak to the woman beside him, oblivious to those outside the elevator.

Sang Ning glanced at the three people around her. They were all engaged in conversation, evidently not noticing that Qingyue had been in the elevator.

Sang Ning suddenly felt puzzled. Was her speculation wrong?

If Qingyue didn’t like women, surely he wouldn’t tolerate someone holding his arm so intimately.

"Sangsang, what are you looking at? Why do you seem out of it?" Qin Kai snapped his fingers in front of Sang Ning, pulling her thoughts back instantly.

"Nothing. I was just hungry, thinking about what dishes to order so I can bankrupt Xixi."

Cheap scoundrel.

Chu Xi internally rolled her eyes and muttered a silent curse at Sang Ning.

Outwardly, however, she tried hard to maintain a smile, though it was stiff and forced. "Heh, Teacher Sang Ning, I’m not sure what you mean by that. Even if you eat here for a hundred years straight, I could still afford it."

"Alright then, it’s decided. From now on, the rest of my life will be financially supported by you. I’ll eat here every day under your name." Sang Ning winked at Chu Xi playfully.

Chu Xi was speechless. How could Sang Ning be so shameless?

Watching Chu Xi gritting her teeth and rolling her eyes, Sang Ning felt amused. Sometimes, teasing this little "green tea" was unexpectedly fun.

The private room Chu Xi had reserved was on the top floor of the club, being the most luxurious suite in the entire venue.

But upon arriving at the top floor, a server informed the group that the room had already been booked by someone else, leaving Chu Xi visibly displeased.

"What do you mean? Call your manager over here! I clearly booked it in advance. Who’s so influential that they won’t even give the Chu Family face? Get the people out of that room immediately!" Chu Xi snapped, her words fueled with anger.

Despite claiming to host the dinner, Chu Xi had mainly arranged this so she could spend time with Shen Yi, reluctantly dragging along two "tagalongs."

Now discovering that her reserved private room had been taken, Chu Xi felt humiliated in front of Shen Yi and refused to back down, her demeanor becoming increasingly aggressive.

The server, aware that Chu Xi was the eldest daughter of the Chu Family and not someone to offend, appeared conflicted. However, the person who had booked the room wasn’t someone he could slight either.

The server hesitated and eventually pulled Chu Xi aside.

Once they were a certain distance away from Sang Ning and the others, Chu Xi shot the server a disdainful glare. "Don’t waste time with sweet talk. If you don’t get those people out of there, you’ll regret it."

The server cupped his hand over his mouth, leaning into Chu Xi’s ear and speaking in a hushed tone, ensuring no one else could hear, "Miss Chu Xi, that private room was reserved by a guest from Hai Chuan Group."

That’s all he said before falling silent.

The Chu Group and Hai Chuan Group—Chu Xi, as the eldest daughter of the Chu Family, clearly understood which held greater sway.

Sure enough, at the mention of Hai Chuan, Chu Xi’s forceful demeanor deflated instantly.

Her father, Chu Tian, was still eager to establish connections with Hai Chuan—there was no way she could demand that their esteemed guests vacate the private room.

Sang Ning, Shen Yi, and Qin Kai exchanged a brief, quiet conversation before their gazes collectively shifted toward Chu Xi.

Now Chu Xi found herself truly cornered. If she gave up the fight for the private room, Sang Ning wouldn’t let her forget this humiliation.

Just as she was agonizing over the situation, Qin Kai stepped forward and suggested, "Xiao Xi, how about we call it off? There are only four of us anyway, and we’d hardly need such a big private room. Neither Shen Yi, Sang Sang, nor I are extravagant people—picking a small room downstairs would be just fine."

"Isn’t that right, Shen Yi, Sang Sang?"

After addressing Chu Xi, Qin Kai turned back to confirm Sang Ning and Shen Yi’s opinions.

As expected, Shen Yi gave his usual answer: "Whatever."

Sang Ning, on the other hand, shrugged indifferently: "I’m just here to eat. Anywhere works for me."

Qin Kai chuckled and spread his hands toward Chu Xi. "See? Everyone agrees. There’s no need to persist—let majority rule."

"Fine. Since it’s everyone’s choice, I won’t make a fuss." Relieved by Qin Kai’s intervention, Chu Xi finally let out a breath.

She shot a glance at the server and barked, "Hurry up and arrange a new private room for us!"

The server visibly brightened, his expression akin to being pardoned, and cheerfully responded, "As you wish, Miss Chu!"

He then led the four toward the private elevator.

Before they reached it, the elevator doors softly opened.

Upon catching sight of a familiar figure, Qin Kai’s pupils suddenly constricted. Without hesitation, he grabbed Sang Ning and Shen Yi by their sleeves and pulled them back. "Run!"

In an instant, the three dashed away like a gust of wind, leaving Chu Xi dazed for two seconds before regaining her senses. Turning around, she saw the trio already retreating toward the emergency stairwell.

Confused and alarmed, Chu Xi abruptly felt a sense of unease. Her heart tightened with fear.

She didn’t dare speak loudly but clenched her teeth, shouting softly toward the fleeing trio, "Wait for me! Don’t leave me behind!"

All four bolted toward the fire escape, leaving the dumbfounded server standing in place.

The server hesitated to pursue them, as the elevator passengers had already stepped past the threshold and were approaching him.

Forced to prioritize, the server abandoned the idea of chasing after Chu Xi and her group. Instead, he bent down into a formal bowing stance, greeting the arriving guests enthusiastically.

A total of five guests exited the elevator, and one man abruptly stopped and peered toward a particular corner with a furrowed brow. "Just now, I think I saw Qin Kai."
