Xu Weiran, holding a medical form, said to the girl sitting on the waiting chair, "It’s acute gastroenteritis, you need an IV. Are your family or friends around? Maybe you want to call them to come and keep you company."

The girl pursed her lips and replied, "My family isn’t around here, but I’ve already messaged a friend, and she’s on her way here. Also, thank you so much for tonight!"

"Then I’ll be leaving first!" Xu Weiran had helped with getting the medicine and handed the forms to the nurse before leaving.

After all, it was their first meeting, and bringing her to the hospital was all he could have done.

"Jingjing, are you okay?"

"It’s all my fault, I forgot to remind you that the stuff in the fridge was almost expired."

"Much better already!"

The girl, a student at Jing University named Li Jingjing, was in her senior year, and had rented a place outside the campus for the convenience of graduate school preparations.

The girl who had just rushed in was her roommate, also a university classmate. However, the roommate was out doing a tutoring job tonight, and Li Jingjing had gotten gastroenteritis from eating expired yogurt.

"But didn’t you say someone brought you to the hospital? Where is he?" Her roommate looked around but didn’t spot anyone likely.

"He has already gone back," Li Jingjing replied.

The roommate shifted her gaze back and while looking after the IV drip in her hand, said, "We definitely need to properly thank him when we get back."

"Yeah!"

"Speaking of which, we’ve been living here so long and this is the first time we’ve actually met our new neighbor across the door. What’s he like? Is he handsome?"

They had seen workers delivering new furniture next door before.

Apart from knowing the new neighbor was a man, they had not yet seen him in person.

Recalling the neighbor’s face, Li Jingjing nodded and said, "Quite handsome!"

"If even you think he’s handsome, then he definitely must be. It’s just too bad I arrived too late and didn’t see him."

Her roommate looked regretful!

"But no worries, you definitely have to go thank him later, and I’ll come with you."

Ning An, returned to his residence from the research institute after ten o’clock.

They quickly added each other on WeChat, and following the hospital’s bill, she transferred the money, asking, "I followed what was on the bill, is this enough?"

Outside, her roommate, clutching Li Jingjing’s hand, exclaimed, "Ahh, he really is handsome! Just wondering what he does for work? Coming back so late, he must have just got off work, no wonder we’ve never run into him before, and who knows if he has a girlfriend?"
