Sweet Wife Arrives: Mr. CEO, Please Pamper Me -
Chapter 90: V3: Has she seen him somewhere before?
Chapter 90: V3: Has she seen him somewhere before?
Looking at the time, almost 10 PM in France, Gu Zixuan was at a loss for words.
What does this mean?
Could it be that she is supposed to have a "romantic" dinner with Feng Chengjin at this time?
Thinking about the awkwardness of the journey, and clearly Feng Chengjin had tried to wash off the lipstick mark on his collar in the airplane restroom, but Stephen kept glancing at his collar as if noticing something, Gu Zixuan felt herself blushing every minute.
She turned her face away, walking to the other end of the suite, gazing at the distant coastline with its scattered lights under the night sky.
The sea breeze blew, creating a simple yet messy beauty in her long hair.
Feng Chengjin watched her back, as if sensing something, he smiled slightly.
After Stephen left, he strolled over to Gu Zixuan’s side, "It seems you don’t really want to have dinner."
"I just ate three hours before getting off the plane, not hungry."
Gu Zixuan didn’t turn around, and Feng Chengjin also smiled lightly, not insisting, leaning both arms on the balcony edge, looking particularly clean in a white shirt not tucked into his dress pants, allowing his sleeves to flutter in the wind.
"Then you don’t want to taste the 82 Lafite either."
Gu Zixuan was startled for a moment, quickly turning her head to stare at the red wine bottle placed in the silver ice bucket, raising her eyebrows, "82?"
"Yes. This wine is hard to find as an authentic one in our country; fortunately, Stephen happened to have it stored in his private winery, and brought it over when he thought you might want to taste it." Feng Chengjin spoke with a lazy smile, motioning toward Gu Zixuan with his head, "Try it?"
Gu Zixuan’s face flushed slightly, but still nodded when she saw the old French words steeped in history.
With a glass under her belt, all her pores seemed to relax.
The wine itself was rich and enticing, and the 82 Lafite was particularly mellow and smooth due to the abundant rainfall that year.
Holding the crystal glass, Gu Zixuan sipped the wine gracefully like a swan.
From Feng Chengjin’s angle, he always felt her demeanor was completely different from ordinary well-bred girls.
Gu Zixuan didn’t notice Feng Chengjin observing her, focusing earnestly on tasting the wine, occasionally turning to look at the coastline.
The red wine relieved the day’s fatigue, mitigated the symptoms of a cold fever, and seemed to make her forget the discomfort brought by He Qimo.
Her heart rippled gently, sensing she might understand why Feng Chengjin did what he did.
Lowering her eyes, she saw Feng Chengjin, who had missed two meals on the plane due to not adjusting his jet lag, not insisting on anything because of her simple "not hungry".
While she was sipping wine alone, he simply raised his glass occasionally when she needed, mostly dining by himself quietly.
The flowers before them were unused, the candlesticks too.
He didn’t even voice another invitation.
Although he forcibly brought her over, he didn’t seem to intend to intrude upon her private solitude.
After watching quietly for a while, she reached out, taking the knife and fork to start cutting the food in front of her.
Even though she still wasn’t hungry, this action represented something far beyond the actual need.
Upon hearing the movement opposite him, Feng Chengjin looked up from his foie gras, observing her for a long time.
Until, seemingly realizing something, his lips suddenly curved into a smile.
A subtle, yet immensely gentle warmth.
Night fell, stars scattered in the sky, the sea met the heavens at the horizon, the sound of waves echoed not far away...
As the atmosphere eased, Feng Chengjin casually chatted with Gu Zixuan while eating.
Gu Zixuan was initially uninterested, but after a few drinks, her gradually relaxed mood led her to start asking Feng Chengjin questions too.
As the exchange deepened, she couldn’t help but wonder.
Had she seen him somewhere before?
Why did this feeling seem so familiar, especially as the sea breeze blew her messy hair to her lips, causing her to frequently push back but unable to resist the sea breeze’s onslaught?
A clean hand suddenly stretched forward, warm fingertips tucking the stray hair behind her ear.
The touch through her scalp caused a slight tremble, as if someone whispered warm breath in her ear.
An itch causing her heart to flutter.
Looking up, she met Feng Chengjin’s deep, distant Mo Tong, her heart rippling slightly.
...
The next day.
Gu Zixuan woke up completely refreshed on her own.
The previous day, since Feng Chengjin had changed the itinerary and wasn’t in a hurry to discuss the project, Stephen, upon understanding the situation, considerately arranged two more days for them at Martinez Beach.
