Chapter 62: Chapter 62: It Must Be Because of the Lamb Stew Bread +1
He Fang relaxed in her chair, head tilted back, allowing Qin Guanglin to massage her head and blow-dry her hair, a gentle smile on her face.
"You’ll be my Blower Guard in front of the Emperor, specifically to dry my hair," she said with her eyes closed, her voice tinged with coyness.
"Do I get a salary?"
Qin Guanglin didn’t care much about the title of Blower Guard; he was more concerned with getting paid.
He Fang knew what he meant by salary. She thought for a while and decided to refuse him; otherwise, there wouldn’t be much reward left to give, "Being my Blower Guard is a great honor itself, and you’re still thinking about salary?"
"Well, I..."
Qin Guanglin uttered two words and suddenly paused. From this angle, he could see down her neckline. Without the sky-blue covering from last time, it was right in front of his eyes, causing him quite the shock.
"What are you?" He Fang asked, puzzled. Why had he even stopped moving his hands?
"Nothing, nothing," Qin Guanglin struggled to shift his gaze back to her silky hair. "What guard did you say?"
"Blower Guard in front of the Emperor, sounds mighty, doesn’t it?"
"Yeah, mighty, very mighty," he said, inadvertently glancing over again.
"So, do you still want a salary?"
Qin Guanglin swallowed hard, then honestly shook his head, "No more."
He never imagined that it would be so spectacular once freed from restraint. Wasn’t it tiring walking around like that?
Should he remind her... No, what if she got angry? Better pretend nothing happened.
"That’s right, not only can you not ask for a salary, but you also need to offer tributes to me. Whatever I need you must..." He Fang continued talking, oblivious to his slowing hand movements.
"Yes," Qin Guanglin nodded continuously.
He Fang hummed triumphantly twice, then suddenly felt the hairdryer stop, so she turned her head and asked, "Why did you... What happened?!"
She gasped in fright. Qin Guanglin was covering his face with his hand, blood seeping continuously through his fingers.
"Nothing, nothing," Qin Guanglin, avoiding eye contact, tilted his head upwards and explained, "I’m a bit overheated...that’s right, the lamb stew I ate earlier was too nourishing."
"How could that be?" He Fang quickly handed him some tissues from the side. Getting a nosebleed from eating lamb stew was unheard of.
Qin Guanglin was miserably blaming her.
But in the end, it was his own fault for not resisting the urge to peek—one glance, two glances, three glances...
Once he started, he couldn’t stop, and thus this mishap occurred. He could only keep wiping his nose as he comforted her, "It’s nothing, it will stop in a while."
"Go wash it, maybe splashing some cold water on your forehead will help," He Fang suggested worriedly.
Eating lamb stew definitely wouldn’t have caused this, it was probably also because she was stretching her legs to tease him.
She tugged on her T-shirt regretfully, trying to cover her legs a bit. This guy was in the prime of his youth; she should’ve been more restrained.
Seeing her tug on her T-shirt and his gaze catching on her smooth collarbone, Qin Guanglin’s nose bleed became fiercer. He sighed and closed his eyes, "You blow dry it yourself, I just need to calm down."
"No need to dry anymore, just go wash."
He Fang tousled her hair, feeling it was almost dry, and stood beside him with a tissue urging him on.
"In a moment..." Qin Guanglin hesitated, not wanting to get up; it wasn’t convenient, and it would be too embarrassing if she saw, "You don’t have to stand here, put the tissues aside, and rest the hairdryer."
"Is it serious?" He Fang still looked at him with concern, not moving an inch.
"Really, it’s nothing."
Qin Guanglin opened his eyes to take a look and then hurriedly closed them again, resignedly clamming up; he couldn’t just tell her to turn around, now could he? He had no choice but to insist it was just the dinner being too rich, and let the lamb stew take the blame; anything else would be too embarrassing.
"I’ll look up to see if there are any good remedies," He Fang turned and went to her bed to grab her phone, intending to consult Baidu.
"Okay, take your time searching."
Qin Guanglin jumped up from the bed and ran towards the bathroom as she turned around, "I’ll wash up first."
This woman is really a demon, she can get him excited at the drop of a hat, just can’t handle it.
It’s embarrassing to bleed...
Luckily, she doesn’t know anything, otherwise his reputation would be completely ruined. It would definitely become a laughing stock in the future, just thinking about it is terrifying.
Standing in front of the mirror, Qin Guanglin wiped away the fog on it, a man with a nosebleed appeared clearly, looking foolish no matter how you looked at him.
"Damn it, it’s true what they show on TV about nosebleeds seeing a beauty."
He muttered as he took off his clothes, planning to shower anyway, he might as well take a bath. He turned on the shower to cold water, the ice-cold water poured down from above his head, giving him goosebumps.
Comfortable.
The heated mood was washed away by the cold water, gradually cooling down. Qin Guanglin glanced outside through the glass, unsure if He Fang was watching him.
He thought, she can’t see clearly anyway, let her watch however she wants.
He reached out to grab the shower gel next to him but paused suddenly. There were two hangers on the rack with two white garments dripping with water, probably just taken off and washed by her...
The calm in his heart heated up again, Qin Guanglin quickly grabbed the shower gel, turned around, and managed to stop the bleeding. Thinking too much might cause another breakout.
He closed his eyes, letting the cold water run for a while, and when he calmed down, he casually washed up, dried off, and got dressed to go outside.
He Fang was already lying on the bed playing with her phone, and seeing him come out, she asked, "That took a while, did you take a bath? Did the nosebleed stop?"
"Bathed, it stopped." Qin Guanglin picked up a hair dryer next to the bed to dry his hair.
"Why didn’t you change clothes after bathing?" He Fang put down her phone and eyed him.
"I didn’t bring them in, I’ll change in a bit."
"Whatever."
He Fang pursed her lips, dressed so tightly, as if someone was interested in looking.
Qin Guanglin continued to dry his hair while pretending to casually look towards He Fang. She was lying half-reclined on the pillow, browsing her phone, her two little white legs hanging over the edge of the bed, her tender little feet swinging.
He unconsciously sniffed, quickly looked away, blood is precious, shouldn’t keep bleeding... Speaking of which, that lamb soup really replenishes, he should eat it slowly next time.
After drying his hair, he found a short sleeve and shorts from his bag, Qin Guanglin was ready to go to the bathroom to change into them—to wear as pajamas—as he did at home.
"What are you up to?" He Fang eyed him suspiciously.
Qin Guanglin held up the short sleeve, "Going to change clothes."
"Just change here, why make it so complicated."
"..."
Qin Guanglin ignored her, turned his head, and entered the bathroom. In no time he changed out of his clothes and then came out saying, "Why don’t you change here?"
"You’re a man."
"If you want to peep, just say so." Adhering to the principle of fairness, Qin Guanglin lifted his shirt to show his stomach, "Here you go."
He Fang couldn’t be bothered to retort, who wants to peep, as if afraid to see that little bit of flesh.
"Forget looking then." He felt snubbed and sat down on the bed, ready to lie down.
"If you dare, take it off."
"You take yours off too," Qin Guanglin retorted.
"Get lost."
