Chapter 175: Chapter 173: Good Night (Two in One, Big Chapter)
"Eating well" doesn’t mean dining on steaks or Japanese dishes that cost over a thousand yuan, but rather enjoying something both people like but don’t often eat.
For example, grilled fish.
It’s not something you can make at home, and eating it every day isn’t realistic—who eats it every day?
So, going out for it occasionally makes both people very happy, especially in a dating atmosphere, which is particularly satisfying.
If Qin Guanglin really took He Fang to some fancy Western restaurant, one steak would probably only whet his appetite, barely counting as a pre-dinner dessert...
With the new store opening, the grilled fish portions were large and filling, He Fang was full after eating just one third of it, leaving two thirds for Qin Guanglin to finish. After the meal, even after a discount, the bill was less than three hundred yuan, and both of them left a great review before heading out.
They were very satisfied with the meal today.
"Let’s go, stroll around before heading back," Qin Guanglin said, holding He Fang’s hand as they slowly walked downstairs.
"Let’s grab a milk tea."
He Fang paused at the bottom of the stairs, the new grilled fish shop also had a related business, a milk tea shop named Meeting Time.
Girls’ stomachs are odd, full during meal times but still able to drink a large cup of milk tea.
"Let’s go to the East Gate, where we first met," Qin Guanglin said, pulling her towards the place they first met.
"No, let’s stay here."
He Fang pulled him into the shop, "One kumquat lemon, less ice and sugar, and one fresh carrot juice."
"You’re so lazy, not willing to walk a bit more," Qin Guanglin sat down and looked around, "But the décor is pretty nice, the same style as the grilled fish shop upstairs."
"I just want to drink what’s here."
"I remember you initially got the location wrong when you first treated me to milk tea, came here first, and it wasn’t open yet, then we went to the East Gate..."
"Yes, and we walked a lot longer because of it," He Fang said, supporting her chin with her hand, a faint smile on her lips as she stared at him.
This was truly the place where they had their first date...
Initially, it seemed like over a month had passed before this silly guy gathered the courage to ask her out for the first time, and they had just sat here that entire afternoon. Almost everything they talked about had been forgotten, only recalling his nervous and silly demeanor.
"What would you like to drink?"
"Same as you."
"Are you sure?"
"Sure."
Thinking about that date, and Qin Guanglin’s awkward yet calm demeanor, He Fang couldn’t help but chuckle.
Clearly in discomfort, yet he insistently finished his drink. Men...
"What are you laughing at?" Qin Guanglin asked suspiciously, somewhat puzzled.
"I just remembered something happy."
"What happy thing?"
"Guess?" He Fang toned down her expression, but seeing his baffled look, she couldn’t help laughing again, coughing lightly and turning her head away.
"I won’t guess," Qin Guanglin pouted, his girlfriend was great, but she always had these inexplicable laughing fits.
The doorbell of the shop gently rang, producing a crisp sound. He Fang pursed her lips and didn’t speak further, as if lost in thought. Qin Guanglin also stayed silent, quietly waiting for their fruit juices to be ready.
"Shall we go watch a movie later?"
After a while, Qin Guanglin asked, holding the cup.
A full date involves walking, shopping, eating, drinking milk tea, and watching a movie. That’s the complete routine.
He had also looked up strategies about getting a room, but he dismissed that idea; nonsense, if they wanted to fool around, they could just go back to He Fang’s place—however, realistically, there wouldn’t be any fooling around.
"Is there any good movie?" He Fang asked.
Qin Guanglin thought for a moment and then shook his head, "I don’t know, haven’t been paying attention to that lately."
"Then let’s skip it," she turned to look at the night outside, "If we watch a movie, it’ll be too late. We can watch something together next weekend." After a pause, she continued, "Movies released on weekends are usually good, and there’s more to choose from."
"Alright, it’s rare to have a date, and I just don’t want to end it like this."
"Then why don’t you run back?"
"It’s not impossible if you let me sleep at your place, I’ll run back," Qin Guanglin suggested, sticking to the principle of fairness, "It’s so tiresome, there has to be some motivation."
"Tsk." He Fang shook her head and looked at him intently, "If you promise to behave, you don’t have to go back tonight."
"Really?" Qin Guanglin was delighted.
"Yeah, but you’ll need to go back to get some clothes, otherwise you’ll have nothing to wear tomorrow, and you’ll have to wear the same outfit."
"I’ll go back and grab some in a bit. I was planning to bring some over to your place anyhow."
Qin Guanglin happily slurped up his carrot juice, feeling utterly pleased.
It was a small step for him, but a big step for their relationship.
They took the bus back, He Fang went to her place first, letting him go home alone to get clothes, and also to inform Qin’s Mom that he wouldn’t be returning that evening to keep her from worrying.
Qin Guanglin packed a small bag of clothes, went to the bathroom to pick up his own towel and toothbrush, thought for a moment, then put them back down, planning to buy a new set at a nearby store later.
After all, if this started becoming routine, it would be bothersome to always carry them back and forth.
Qin’s Mom wasn’t in the living room, he went to her bedroom door to knock and see if she was there, but hesitated with his hand raised.
She was still under the impression that the two of them had done everything that should and shouldn’t be done; announcing face-to-face that he wasn’t coming home tonight to stay over at He Fang’s seemed somewhat awkward.
After thinking for a moment, Qin Guanglin abandoned the idea of knocking, carried his clothes out directly, sent a message to Qin’s Mom on his mobile phone about not returning tonight, then stored his phone and quickly walked to He Fang’s place.
