Chapter 155: Chapter 153: You Have a Matter
"Boss, Brother Wen."
Jiang Lingling in a cocktail dress stood to the side and greeted the two, "You’re here."
Qin Guanglin was stunned, somewhat surprised, "What are you doing here?"
He turned to look at Sun Wen and Yu Le; both appeared quite natural, not showing the slightest bit of surprise, as if they had known all along.
"The groom is my cousin," Jiang Lingling said cheerfully, "Isn’t it normal for me to be here?"
Cousin?
Qin Guanglin was even more surprised when he turned his head and saw another familiar face.
The editor from the company, Wenqing.
The studio originally had only about a dozen people, and now almost half were here.
"All right, stop chatting and go take a seat. You guys go ahead and get busy," Sun Wen called out to Qin Guanglin and Xiao Yu to head to the table with the classmates. The last part was addressed to Yu Le.
"Are they all... your referrals?" Qin Guanglin kept looking back at the folks while walking and asked Sun Wen.
These people normally acted like regular colleagues at the company, and it was impossible to tell that they had this kind of relation.
What’s the situation?
Companies generally frown upon this sort of thing. It’s one thing for a large company, but in a small company with so few people, having half the staff related by family ties—not to speak of the management issues—if there’s some conflict or departures, the company could lose half its staff in an instant and might very well collapse.
"Yep, it was all my doing. I made it happen, getting them into the company," Sun Wen said with a simple smile, pointing to the other side, "There are two more over there. Including you, that’s six people in total."
"..."
"Don’t go spreading this around at work, okay? They’re all cousins. As long as we don’t say anything, no one will notice."
"You’re up to something," Qin Guanglin, upon hearing this, immediately slowed his pace.
He was so eager to stuff people into the company, sneaking them in, and now half the company’s staff had been brought in by him over the past two years, including himself.
What’s he planning?
"Hey, what could be going on?" Sun Wen patted him on the shoulder, "Hurry and take a seat."
"I have a feeling you’re definitely up to no good."
Qin Guanglin shook his head and didn’t ask any more; it didn’t matter much to him—it was just a job.
"Hey, Wen, did you grow taller again?"
The plump Gao Xin, looking like a meat bun, had been seated there for a while and called out promptly as he saw them approaching, "You must be almost two meters tall by now. Standing next to him makes you guys look like dwarfs." He motioned to the seats on either side for Qin Guanglin and Xiao Yu, "Come on, you two sit here. Don’t sit with him."
"Hey, I’m gonna sit right next to you," Sun Wen darted to the seat beside Gao Xin.
The two of them, one tall and the other stout, looked quite comical together.
"You got here pretty early, looks like the three of us are the late ones," Qin Guanglin took a seat without much fuss next to Sun Wen, with Xiao Yu sitting beside Qin Guanglin, bunching up together.
"Zhang Dongming, Lin Hao, why are you two sitting so far away? Come over here," Xiao Yu shouted to the others on the opposite side.
"Wen, your last name should be with mine—’Gao Wen’ sounds good for someone as tall as you," Gao Xin joked with Sun Wen.
"Wang Jincheng, you’ve really changed a lot, almost didn’t recognize you. Didn’t see you at the last gathering."
"Hey, Lin, you two are dressed pretty flamboyantly today."
The wedding banquet hadn’t started yet; everyone was cracking open sunflower seeds, sipping tea, and chatting—the atmosphere was indeed lively.
"You guys, when are you getting married?" Gao Xin’s chubby, meat bun face squinted into a slit, knocking on the table and asking Qin Guanglin and Xiao Yu.
"That’s a long way off," Qin Guanglin cracked open a peanut and chewed it twice, then shook his head at Xiao Yu, "But he’s already married."
"When?!" Gao Xin shrieked, "Xiao Yu, that’s really not cool of you!"
"In his dreams," Xiao Yu pursed his lips, "Without even a girlfriend, what’s there to get married to? Don’t listen to his nonsense."
"That’s not right, your wife was just sitting on my lap," Qin Guanglin snickered.
"F*ck, that’s stimulating, huh?" Zhang Dongming, sitting next to Xiao Yu, couldn’t help but turn his head, "You guys know how to have fun."
"Psh, I don’t believe that." Gao Xin scoffed.
"Hurry up and forget about it," Xiao Yu said wistfully, looking at Qin Guanglin, "She just lay on my lap for a moment, didn’t she?"
"F*ck?"
Gao Xin’s small eyes suddenly bulged out, looking back and forth between Qin Guanglin and Xiao Yu, "Really?"
"Bullsh*t, his cat’s name is ’wife’." Sun Wen burst into laughter, "This guy’s been single for too long, his brain’s got issues."
"I like it," Xiao Yu huffed, "Laugh again, laugh and I’ll go home and rename it Sun Wen, heheheheh..."
"Hahaha... *burp*."
Sun Wen’s laughter abruptly stopped, his face twisted, "Don’t, don’t be so perverted."
"It’s still just a little female cat~" Xiao Yu looked at Qin Guanglin with malice.
"I forgot, your wife hasn’t touched me," Qin Guanglin raised his hands in surrender.
Amidst the chit-chat and laughter, the auspicious time arrived, and the host stood up front, tapped the microphone twice to test it, and then started the opening remarks.
"So envious..." Sun Wen turned his head to look at the stage, heaving a sigh of envy.
"Yeah, really envious."
Qin Guanglin nodded, also filled with longing and anticipation, "When could I also stand up there..."
"To host the wedding?" Xiao Yu interjected.
"F*ck off, to exchange rings."
"Haha, should we tease him a bit in his bridal chamber tonight?" Gao Xin squinted his small eyes, instigating, "Yu Fei’s the first one to get married among us, let’s make it a big deal for him."
"Forget it, what’s there to tease about in a bridal chamber." Qin Guanglin wasn’t very interested in that, "When it’s your turn to get married, he’ll make sure you pay it back, it’s doing harm without benefiting oneself."
"Exactly," Xiao Yu pointed at Gao Xin with his finger, "You’re too evil, if you were to tease, he wouldn’t forget it for years."
Among the classmates, Gao Xin was the sneakiest, no one dared to claim they were sneakier than him.
"Go on, aren’t you the same?" Gao Xin threw a sunflower seed at him, "Who was it that threw a smoke bomb into the circle of candles when Wen was confessing?"
"Damn, you two are the same, don’t talk about each other, both full of mischief," Sun Wen looked at the two askance, annoyed.
Gao Xin chuckled mischievously and his eyes flickered, "What if tonight in his bridal room..."
"Too harmful, too harmful, you guys can stop." Qin Guanglin hastily called a halt, "We’re all grownups, how can we still be so childish?"
"Exactly grownups, as long as he’s still a virgin, he’ll always be a child," Sun Wen said with a wicked smile.
"..."
"..."
"..."
With one sentence he jabbed at five or six people, who all looked at him solemnly.
"F*ck, no way, you guys?" Sun Wen was shocked, "It’s normal for Gao Xin, who looks like a steamed bun, to not have a girlfriend, but you guys have been graduated for two years and still..."
"Who looks like a steamed bun?" Gao Xin was displeased, "And I lost it long ago, okay?" He patted his chest and hummed, "A man, a man who can do it seven times a night."
"For two minutes at a time," Xiao Yu added.
"Hahahahaha."
The crowd laughed uproariously, and the air was filled with cheerful spirits.
I don’t know what’s there to compare about this thing, men really are a strange species.
