Chapter 118: Goodness is Mutual
Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Goodness is Mutual
An accident?
Qin Guanglin froze for a moment, subconsciously pinching that smooth little foot.
"You’re still moving?!" He Fang’s voice was as fine as a mosquito’s, "Get away quickly."
"..."
With a dazed face, Qin Guanglin let go and was about to speak when He Fang had already rolled back under the covers, "Help me turn off the lights and lock the door, thank you."
This fool didn’t know how seductive he was, whether it was his talks of marrying her, building a home, or squatting down to wash her feet; it all made one want to hold him tight and shower him with affection.
What is it that a woman wants most?
Isn’t it to have someone cherish her, spoil her, and take care of her with the utmost attention and care?
A man over six feet tall squatting by the bed, carefully wiping her feet with a towel, the physical sensation aside, just looking at the scene made her heart nearly melt, wanting to entrust everything to him.
He deserved the best.
"Going to sleep now?" Qin Guanglin scratched his head, feeling as if he had done something wrong?
Had he known, he would have listened to her and let her do it herself...
"I’m sleeping, you better go back," He Fang buried her head in the thin quilt, peeking out through a crack at him, "Go now."
If he stayed longer, she didn’t know if she could harden her heart to reject him if he made an excessive request.
"Alright then."
Qin Guanglin picked up the bucket, ready to go to the bathroom to pour out the water, "You rest well, I’ll come over again tomorrow."
"Okay."
The room darkened, He Fang stared at the ceiling and quietly listened to the sound of his movements outside, breathing a sigh of relief.
Three years, how would she endure them...
The footsteps moved from the bathroom back to the door, and then the door was gently opened. He Fang’s heart skipped a beat, she fixed her gaze on the approaching figure at the door, "What are you doing?!"
"I need to kiss you before I can go back," Qin Guanglin almost forgot this important matter, didn’t even turn on the light, and clumsily climbed onto the bed to feel around, "Come on, just one kiss and I’m gone."
"Don’t move around."
He Fang gently pushed his hand away, took hold of his head coming forward, and gave it a fierce suck, "There, now go quickly."
"Rest well."
Having completed his mission, Qin Guanglin turned and left, shutting the door behind him from outside. He thought for a moment and then twisted the key a couple of times before walking down the stairs.
Happiness begins today.
Humming a tune back home, the living room was pitch dark, Qin’s Mom had already gone back to rest, he went to the bathroom to take a shower, and dressed in a tank top and shorts, he stood by the window looking towards He Fang’s place for a while, sent a goodnight message on his phone, and then lay down in bed to sleep.
There are three important turning points in life: birth, college entrance exam, and marriage.
You don’t get a choice in being born, the college entrance exam relies on hard work, but marriage depends on fate.
Qin Guanglin closed his eyes with a smile, his heart brimming with happiness.
Thankful to fate for giving him such a wonderful girlfriend.
...
The night, dreamless.
The full moon slowly descended, retreating before dawn, and the sun poked its head out to replace it, scattering a hundredfold brightness over the world.
The alarm didn’t go off, but Qin Guanglin had already opened his eyes, glanced outside and then at the clock, and with the agility of a carp, leaped out of bed.
Exiting the bedroom, Qin’s Mom happened to be preparing to leave and was surprised to see him up so early on a weekend,
"Slept enough, just woke up," Qin Guanglin casually replied and ran into the washroom to freshen up.
After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he took Qin’s Mom’s comb, vainly fixed his hair, and then went back to the bedroom to change clothes, ready to step out.
On Teacher He’s first day of moving in, it was essential to bring her breakfast.
Stepping out and reaching the corner, Qin Guanglin seemed to remember something. He turned around, ran back to the front door, opened it, went back into his bedroom to pack up his computer, and then headed out again.
Carrying breakfast and the laptop bag to He Fang’s place, he found that He Fang was still sound asleep. He picked up the remote to turn up the air conditioner slightly and tucked in the corner of her blanket, then sat by the bed, watching her sleep with a light chuckle.
Finally, the day had come.
Being able to see her in the morning and at night was already more than enough.
Without disturbing her rest, Qin Guanglin tiptoed to place the computer on the desk, connected it to the network, and after tinkering with it for a while, stretched lazily and pulled out the novel from last night to continue reading.
He preliminarily concluded that the pawnshop clerk was the murderer, but it might be the author’s deliberate misdirection, because if it were so easy to guess, He Fang wouldn’t have read it over and over again.
Time slipped quietly by, and when He Fang woke up, the first thing she saw was the figure sitting in front of the desk, causing her a moment of confusion, "Tea... cough."
Suddenly coming to her senses, she lay on the bed and gave a light cough, "When did you come over?"
"I just got here, I didn’t scare you, did I?" Qin Guanglin, hearing her voice, put down the book and got up, "I brought you vegetarian buns, they’re still warm. Would you like to eat now or after washing your face?"
"Hand them over," He Fang propped herself up and leaned against the headboard, "Why did you bring your computer here?"
"In case you get bored. You can watch movies or TV, or even browse forums whenever you want."
"Don’t you need it?"
"I don’t use it much," Qin Guanglin smiled at her, "I can just come over when I need it, it’s so convenient anyway."
"Why are you so good to me?"
He Fang glanced at the bun she had taken a bite from, tilting her head, "We’ve been dating for less than half a year."
She knew of his kindness, that’s why she sought him out.
But what about him?
"Because you’re good to me," Qin Guanglin said as if it was the most natural thing in the world, "You’re good to me, I’m good to you, isn’t that normal?"
"How have I been good to you?"
"Uh..."
He hesitated, caught off guard by her direct question; he couldn’t really specify, "Just... good."
"What do you mean, ’just... good’?" He Fang rolled her eyes, "Come on, say it."
Qin Guanglin thought for a moment and then said, "I can feel it, you’ve been very good to me." He paused, took He Fang’s small hand, brought it to his lips, and kissed it, "I’m sure you like me."
From the look in her eyes to her actions, and even the little everyday things, he could tell she liked him.
It was a special kind of love—indescribable feelings, but he could feel them clearly.
The first meeting, the first confession, the first visit to his house, the first outing, the first night together, the first...
There were too many.
"Alright, I accept your explanation," He Fang said happily, squinting her eyes, "Do you want a bite?"
"I’ve already eaten," Qin Guanglin took the soy milk on the side and felt its temperature, "It’s a bit cold; I’ll warm it up for you before you drink."
He reheated the water he had brought with him in the living room, submerged the soy milk in it, and after waiting quietly for five minutes, he took it out, inserted a straw, and brought it back to the bedroom, "Here."
He Fang took a sip and suddenly covered her head with the blanket, rolling around on the bed a few times.
"I’m too happy."
She stopped rolling and looked up at Qin Guanglin with wide eyes, "Why are you doing this?"
"..."
Qin Guanglin’s gaze wandered as he tried to keep from looking at her nightgown, which had risen due to her rolling, "Because... because you’re Teacher He."
"Keep it up," He Fang took a big sip of the soy milk, "It should always be like this, don’t ask me to squeeze carrot juice for you."
"When did I ever ask you to squeeze carrot juice for me?" Qin Guanglin asked, perplexed.
"Just remember that," she said.
