Chapter 116: Change Your Name to Song Jiang

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Change Your Name to Song Jiang

"Want to try?"

He Fang didn’t speak but walked around him, sizing him up, "Who taught you this?"

"What?"

"All this sweet talk, come on, who taught you?"

"Uh..." Qin Guanglin was at a loss for words.

"Are my hands pretty?" He Fang asked, lifting her hand as he seemed stunned.

"Of course."

She turned to look at the living room and held out her hand, "Then give it a kiss."

Being complimented felt good—who wouldn’t like their significant other to find them attractive?

Qin Guanglin really did find her attractive. He lowered his head and gently pecked her hand, "Teacher He is lovable in every way."

"Hmph, you’re becoming less proper."

"I’m serious though." Qin Guanglin finished washing the dishes and wiped his hands, reaching out to compare their hands, "See, aren’t they prettier than mine?"

"Definitely prettier than your stinky pig trotters." He Fang slapped his hand away, "Go now."

Qin Guanglin followed her out of the kitchen, rubbing his stomach, "I’m still so full. Want to go for a walk?"

"Where to?"

"Ah right, let me move the chair for you." He picked a relatively new one from the corner, "Moving a bit will help a lot."

"Okay." He Fang nodded, clearly not intending to linger here.

Now that she had her own place not too far away, they could spend more time together anytime. It didn’t really matter where.

And with Qin’s Mom here, it certainly wasn’t as comfortable as being alone.

"Wait." Just as they were about to leave, Qin Guanglin set the chair down and went back to his room to grab two bags, "You take this, I’ll carry the chair."

One was a bag of mugwort, the other was fruit candies.

"That’s thoughtful." He Fang smiled appreciatively, "What else do you have? Bring them all out."

"That’s it. Let’s go."

Qin Guanglin walked out with the chair and then halted, "Do you need anything else? I’ll see if we have it at home."

"I need a man."

"Cough..." He choked, then recovering, asked, "So should I sleep at your place tonight?"

"You should be blushing." He Fang pouted, "You’ve really changed."

"If you talk like that again, I might take it seriously next time." Qin Guanglin carried the chair forward, "I’m still missing a woman to warm my bed."

"I told you before I’d warm your bed." She glanced sideways at Qin Guanglin, "But you refused."

"Can I change my mind?"

He really had been foolish before.

"Too late." He Fang chuckled playfully, "Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless you blush for me right now."

"Then watch." Qin Guanglin set the chair down and took a deep breath.

"Holding your breath doesn’t count." She added another condition, "It has to be from shyness."

"Never mind then."

Shyness was beyond his control; she touched him in the afternoon and he hadn’t blushed, it seemed hopeless.

"You’re not cute at all now. Had I known, I would have kept my distance, played along a little longer..." He Fang muttered disapprovingly.

Qin Guanglin was puzzled inside. What was so good about blushing?

He pondered for a moment and remembered how He Fang looked blushing in the private cinema, and suddenly it made sense.

Indeed, it was quite cute.

It took over ten minutes to leisurely carry the stuff back to He Fang’s place. Qin Guanglin placed the chair in front of the desk to test it, and it was a perfect fit.

"It fits well; you try." He pulled He Fang to sit down, "Right?"

He Fang rested her arm on the table and mimicked a writing posture, nodding with satisfaction, "Hmm, just right."

Writing posture is very important; if the chair isn’t suitable, just a few hours of writing could lead to back pain—it could even cause chronic issues over time.

"Why handwrite?" Qin Guanglin was a bit puzzled about that, "These days, it seems everyone writes novels on computers..."

"It’s a hassle to type on a computer, then print it out, and mail it, isn’t it cumbersome?" He Fang pulled a sheet of paper from a book and waved it at him, "My handwriting is nice, and I enjoy it."

"Can’t you just publish it online?"

"No, I write traditional novels, there’s no market for them online."

"Well, then..."

"Don’t ask if you don’t understand, just go and pour me a glass of water." He Fang leaned back in her chair and squinted her eyes, directing her boyfriend, "Then put a trash bag on and peel a candy for me, throw the wrapper in the trash, thanks."

"You look beautiful." Qin Guanglin clicked his tongue and turned to head to the living room to fetch water.

What could he do, when she was Teacher He?

"Good boy." He Fang took the water and happily took a sip, "The candy?"

"Here."

Qin Guanglin peeled the candy and popped it into her mouth, unfolding the wrapper to take a look, "This is quite pretty. I’ve heard of people collecting these; since you love candy so much, why don’t you collect them?"

"Can’t be bothered; if you think it’s nice, you collect it."

"Alright." He pocketed the wrapper, planning to find a book to flatten it later, "Just keep eating candy and leave it for me to pick up. I’ll be able to tell how much candy you’ve eaten in a year just by counting the wrappers."

"A year... It’s just a few hundred pieces, do I even need to count?" He Fang scoffed, "You really have too much free time."

"I am free." Qin Guanglin lay down on her bed and sighed, "Aren’t you bored? There’s not even a TV here. What do you do during the day?"

While at school, she could attend classes or visit the library, and there were roommates, but after moving here, all that was gone.

"I write novels."

"And when you’re not writing?"

"Thinking," He Fang said matter-of-factly, "How can I write without thinking? Do you think I can just pick up a pen and start scribbling?"

"No, it’s just like my painting." Qin Guanglin kind of understood, "But don’t you get bored?"

"What’s a smartphone for?" She took out her phone and was suddenly reminded, "My beans?!"

"You’ve lost them all."

Qin Guanglin didn’t even look at her, "I had already won over a hundred thousand beans. No matter how much I win, they disappear every time I log in. Maybe you should change your nickname to Song Jiang, the generous wanderer."

"Really?" He Fang was skeptical, "I didn’t notice."

"Did you feel it when you lost eighty thousand beans to me last time?" Qin Guanglin rubbed his forehead, "Anyway, all that’s left is for you to take me home to meet your dad. When are you going back?"

"Not sure yet, just wait." She was too lazy to correct him further, "When I go, I’ll definitely bring you along. My dad wants to meet you too."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Is it in a good way or a bad way?" Qin Guanglin scrambled up, "Why does he want to meet me?"

"What do you mean ’good or bad’?" He Fang leaned back in her chair, idly saying, "I’ve got a boyfriend, my dad wants to meet him, isn’t that normal?"

"Seems so."

"Excited to meet my dad?"

"Excited." Qin Guanglin rubbed his hands and paced around the room, "What should I bring for our first meeting? Should I buy some new clothes?"

"Stop, stop, stop."

He Fang sighed helplessly at his antics, "We’ll talk about it when the time comes, we don’t even know when we’re going yet."

"Let me prepare a bit, gives me some peace of mind."

Meeting the father-in-law was crucial to his and Teacher He’s happiness, he couldn’t afford any mistakes.
