Chapter 955: Chapter 955 Important Surgery

"Hey! Wait up!" Ruan Fangfang caught up and said, "I’ll pay you double the price! Think it over, and if you’re interested, come find me. This offer is good for a long time."

Wang Jiu paused in his steps and agreed.

Ruan Fangfang went to the hospital and returned to her department.

Early in the morning, the department was busy. Today, Yan Ye was going to lead a surgery, a heart valve replacement procedure.

Such a cardiac surgery is quite demanding, and there is a slight risk of mortality post-operatively. Also, because the patient was the father of the hospital’s dean, the surgery was regarded as particularly important.

"An Hao, Lei Linxuan! You two follow me into the operating room," Yan Ye called out. "The rest of you go with Dr. Lu and Dr. Zhang."

"Let me be your first assistant!" Ma Mei said.

Since it was the dean’s father’s surgery, she wanted to be involved too, so that in the future, when the surgery was mentioned, Ma Mei could also be counted on the list.

"Fine," Yan Ye agreed, "Now, let’s all get moving. Prepare the surgical supplies, and those who don’t have surgeries scheduled for the morning should do rounds."

An Hao and Lei Linxuan followed Yan Ye to get ready for the surgery and first headed to the disinfection room to scrub in.

"This is probably the first time you’ll see a surgery like this, so watch closely and learn diligently," Yan Ye reminded his students while disinfecting.

Ma Mei, who was listening at the side, couldn’t help but interject, "Director Yan really takes good care of his students. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this."

Her words clearly had an underlying message.

After disinfecting his hands and arms, Yan Ye gave Ma Mei a cool glance and said, "It seems Dr. Ma doesn’t care for her students? I treat all interns here equally! However, if someone wants to win my favor, they must stand out, either by being diligent and hardworking or by being exceptional."

Yan Ye rarely spoke so much to Ma Mei, and even more rarely were his words so piercing.

"Yes. Director Yan is right," Ma Mei gave an awkward smile. "Let’s go, Director. The surgery is about to start."

The overhead surgical light switched on, the patient was laid on the table, and the anesthetist had administered general anesthesia. Then, Yan Ye glanced at the clock and said, "Start timing."

"Scalpel," Yan Ye said.

The instrument nurse standing beside him quickly handed over the scalpel.

After taking the scalpel, he hesitated for a moment, then handed it to An Hao, who was standing by to observe, and said, "You open the chest."

"What?" Ma Mei was stunned, as were the second and third assistants involved in the surgery. "Director Yan, please be careful! After all, this is the dean’s father!"

An Hao, holding the scalpel and ready to make an incision, paused after hearing this remark.

She looked up, silently seeking Yan Ye’s opinion with her eyes.

Yan Ye responded to her with a firm look.

An Hao lowered her head, gripping the scalpel in her hand. The sharp tip touched the chest, gliding over the skin, and a straight incision opened up.

"How does it feel?" Yan Ye took the scalpel and continued.

"Fine. Not nervous."

Everyone had witnessed that moment. Her hands didn’t shake, and her incision technique was skilled. This was rare for an intern.

However, An Hao was no ordinary intern.

Seeing this, Ma Mei felt uneasy.

She was worried!

She feared that Ruan Fangfang might not be able to stay in this department for her internship. Whether she admitted it or not, An Hao had already demonstrated the qualities of a surgeon.
