Chapter 935: Chapter 935: Personally Apologize

"Important guest? Who could it be? My dad? An Ping? Or someone else?" An Hao muttered to herself.

"Who knows. He said he’ll probably come to pick you up around nine." Gu Shuangshuang checked her watch, "It’s already eight fifty now, if you head downstairs now and walk to the main gate, you’ll arrive just in time."

"Alright then." So, An Hao got ready quickly, took her bag, and went downstairs.

As soon as she reached the school gate, indeed, the security guard was just arriving in the car.

"Sister-in-law, the Commander sent me to take you home."

"Gu Shuangshuang told me." An Hao opened the car door and got in, "I heard there’s an important guest at home, do you know who it is?"

"I’m not quite sure."

"Oh." An Hao nodded, and didn’t ask any further.

The car made its way back to the military district compound, driving towards one of the more elegant two-story houses inside.

Finally, they stopped at the front door of her home.

An Hao directly used her key to open the door and as she entered the living room, she saw an elderly couple sitting on the sofa.

The man was dressed in military uniform, his epaulets indicating the rank of lieutenant general.

The woman was elegantly dressed, moved gracefully, and had an extraordinary manner of speaking. One could tell at a glance that this couple was not ordinary.

They were looking down at a photo album, but when they heard someone come in and looked up, their eyes met An Hao’s.

Looking at the faces of the two people, An Hao felt she had seen them somewhere before.

"You’re back." Zhang Yun stood up and waved An Hao over, "An Hao, come here, let me introduce you. This is your Uncle Cheng and Aunt Qi."

At the mention of this surname, An Hao suddenly understood, "You must be Cheng Yue’s parents, right?"

"Yes, you have a good eye." Cheng Nanfang laughed, and although he had aged, with wrinkles creeping up at the corners of his eyes, it was not difficult to tell that he had been a handsome man in his youth.

"Hello Uncle, Auntie," An Hao greeted them and sat down with her bag beside her.

"This is your daughter-in-law? She’s beautiful! Learned, reasonable, and polite, she’s obviously a good daughter-in-law," Qi Siyuan praised.

"Indeed! There’s nothing to criticize about this daughter-in-law of mine. Although young, she’s very sensible," Zhang Yun said with a smile that couldn’t be any wider.

"Sister-in-law, you are indeed a fortunate person," Qi Siyuan said enviously as she looked down and stroked the photo of Qin Jian.

"You’re blessed with a son and a daughter as well. It’s just a pity I have only one son and no daughter," said Zhang Yun, glancing at An Hao, "I raise her as if she were my own daughter."

"Sigh!" Qi Siyuan let out a heavy sigh, "Just look at what my son and daughter have turned out to be."

"Who’s to blame for that? Isn’t it all because you spoiled them?" Cheng Nanfang had quite a few complaints about Qi Siyuan when it came to raising children.

"Stop blaming me. Don’t you share some of the responsibility?" Reminded of her daughter Cheng Yu’s current state, Qi Siyuan felt an ache in her heart, "If you hadn’t approved her going to the battlefield back then, would I be in this situation today?"

"There were many who went to the battlefield! Should they act the way she does when they are wounded?" Cheng Nanfang responded with mild indignation.

In recent times, he had argued with Qi Siyuan quite frequently over the issue of Cheng Yu.

They had been married for so many years, always in love.

But to his regret, they had been arguing frequently lately because of their eldest daughter.

"Alright, you two stop arguing," Ning Yibin said with a smile, looking at Cheng Nanfang, "Can’t you, a grown man, give in a little to a woman?"

"It’s precisely because I always give in to her that she’s become what she is," Cheng Nanfang stated somberly.
