Every doctor must know the details of each patient off by heart!" Yan Ye asserted, and he would go on to demand the same of An Hao and Lei Linxuan later.

There were no surgeries in the morning, only a few new patients admitted for inpatient treatment.

After conducting the relevant examinations, An Hao and Lei Linxuan had a brief moment to rest at lunchtime.

"Ugh, I’m so tired," Lei Linxuan said as she sat down and massaged her aching legs, "Being a doctor is so hard! I feel it’s even more exhausting than our daily drills."

Just as she walked in, she noticed a group of Dr. Ma’s interns huddled together, chattering and gossiping about the situation in the department.

"Director Yan is so handsome! It’s just that he always has a stern face with no hint of a smile."

"Who says he never smiles? When he looks at those two interns, there’s clearly a smile in his eyes."

"Exactly. He must either be related to them or they are his students!"

"I’m so jealous! I wish I could be a student of Teacher Yan."

Ruan Fangfang could no longer stand their discussion and interrupted, "Enough already! Isn’t Dr. Ma teaching us well? Aren’t you afraid of hurting his feelings if he hears you talking like this?"

"Dr. Ma has eyes only for you. We don’t have the good fortune of being regarded so highly by him, unlike you!"

Ruan Fangfang looked at them smugly, "Then you should stick closer to me, and I’ll put in a good word for you with Dr. Ma."

Lei Linxuan, overhearing the lively conversation without specific references to her and An Hao, felt psychologically that boundaries had been drawn.

Not wanting to stir trouble on her first day, she quietly turned to leave without getting water, as their conversation continued.

She had only taken a few steps when she heard Ruan Fangfang’s voice behind her, "Lei Linxuan, right?"

Lei Linxuan, hearing Ruan Fangfang call her, had no choice but to stop and turn around, "Yes, do you need me for something?"

"Nothing much. Just wanted to chat for a bit," Ruan Fangfang said, feigning friendliness as she took Lei Linxuan’s hand and led her aside, "I wanted to ask, what’s your relationship with that girl named An Hao and Director Yan?"

"She’s our teacher," Lei Linxuan answered truthfully.

"No wonder! Director Yan never usually takes interns." Ruan Fangfang then asked, "How long will you be rotating in this department?"

In the hospital, interns had to rotate through each department.

Each department spanned two months until the rotations were complete.

"Two months," Lei Linxuan replied, "but only I rotate, An Hao doesn’t."

"Doesn’t rotate? Why is she so special?" Ruan Fangfang asked in surprise.
