Chapter 816: Chapter 816: Seeking Help for a Matter

The windmill spun, making a rustling sound on the paper.

The child was immediately captivated by the windmill, he stopped crying, and stared with his innocent, wide eyes at the spinning object before him.

"Bring over an oxygen bag," An Hao said.

Yan Ye passed her an oxygen bag, and she opened the oxygen tube and gently placed it under the toddler’s nostrils, allowing him to inhale, while continuously spinning the windmill.

"The child has a congenital heart disease! From visual observation, it appears that the child might have Tetralogy of Fallot. Further diagnosis will need to be confirmed with an ultrasound at the hospital, but if it indeed is this condition, then we must act quickly to perform surgery," An Hao said, then looked at Yan Ye with an inquiring gaze.

"That’s right," Yan Ye confirmed after examining the child’s condition and listening to the child’s heart sounds. He told the grandparents to arrange for surgery as soon as possible, either at the local major hospital or to come to him.

The child’s grandparents were greatly frightened upon hearing this and quickly took down the contact address of Yan Ye’s hospital, promising to bring the child to the hospital for surgery afterwards.

After the sick toddler left, An Hao saw a few other patients. She had been interning at the hospital for over a year and had seen many patients already.

The first time she treated a patient, she wasn’t too sure and only felt reassured after asking Yan Ye and receiving his confirmation.

She was not yet a doctor, and had no prescribing authority.

Thus, she had to consult Yan Ye on everything.

The whole day was busy, and by the time her shift was over, it had already gotten late.

The day had been like a battle, everyone was very tired.

"How was it? How do you feel after acting like a doctor for the day?" Yan Ye offered An Hao a glass of water and inquired.

"It was quite good. I’m very happy that I could help alleviate their pain and worries," An Hao shared her heartfelt feelings.

Cheng Yu joined in on their casual conversation and added, "My experience today was not bad either. I found the sensation of saving lives and aiding the wounded on the battlefield again. I hope that during our stay, we can treat more patients. In fact, many of them can be treated without surgery. If discovered early and monitored carefully, they can still live quite long lives."

"Absolutely. We are definitely in for a tough month. But now that work is done for today, how about everyone heads back early?" Yan Ye said, then clapped his hands to signal everyone to disperse and return to their rented places to rest.

"Alright. If that’s the case, I’ll head back first. See you all tomorrow," An Hao greeted them and was about to leave, but Cheng Yu called out to her.

"An Hao! Could I bother you for a favor?" Cheng Yu asked.

"Sure, what do you need help with? Just tell me, and I’ll help you if I can," An Hao responded.

"I know it might be presumptuous of me. But you see, I’ve been out here for quite some time and haven’t reported back to my family. Especially Yuyu, he made me promise countless times to call him once I arrived," Cheng Yu paused, then added somewhat sheepishly, "I haven’t seen any place in town where I could make a call, and I thought since the army camp has phones, could I possibly use your family’s phone?"

"Well, that is possible," An Hao hesitated, aware that if she let Cheng Yu come to her house to make the call, it was already late, and she would likely have to escort him back.

Only, Qin Jian was quite busy these days, and she didn’t dare let him escort Cheng Yu in the late night all alone.
