Chapter 751: Chapter 751: Go Out to Find a House to Live In

Qin Jian and An Hao got back home late.

Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun had been waiting for them to have dinner together.

"Why are you coming back so late today?" Zhang Yun brought out the dishes from the kitchen and casually asked about their day, "Who had a late class?"

"Mom! It was my class that ended late. Qin Jian waited for me at the school gate the entire time," An Hao said after washing her hands and returning to the dining table.

"You’re both so busy even in the second half of your sophomore year. You say you hardly see each other all year round, and each has so much on their plate."

"Stop complaining, didn’t we also go through this when we were young?" Ning Yibin remarked.

"Dad, Mom, Qin Jian! I have some great news. Today, Teacher Yan invited me to join his research group! If I study hard for a year or two, I can get credits and graduate early to start working sooner," An Hao shared excitedly.

"Impressive! Yan Ye’s choice in students is definitely not wrong," Ning Yibin encouraged An Hao, "Since this is a good opportunity, you must not let it slip by. Work hard and try to find a position at our military district hospital or an affiliated hospital of the Military Medical University after graduation."

"That’s what I was thinking too," An Hao replied, then turned to look at Qin Jian, "By then, you could apply to transfer back here, right? It’s not ideal to be apart all the time."

"We’ll see when the time comes," Qin Jian said.

"Then does that mean you’ll be even busier from now on?" As a housewife, Zhang Yun was now considering the practical aspects of their household arrangements.

An Hao coughed awkwardly twice, "I suppose so."

She knew her mother-in-law cared about these issues.

This time, Zhang Yun didn’t say much, but she did express sympathy, "How much time will you waste commuting every day?"

"Actually, walking along the streets after class is quite a happy affair," Qin Jian enjoyed the time alone with his young wife on the way home each day.

"But that must be exhausting every day. You come home late at night, then have to leave early in the morning. It’s too hard on you," Zhang Yun pondered out loud.

Her words reminded Ning Yibin of something, "Do you remember your friend who came to see you a while back? She said that her son and daughter-in-law had gone abroad, and the empty house needed to be cleaned regularly, which was a hassle. If I’m not mistaken, that house should be right between their two schools. Ask her about it tomorrow. If it’s free, maybe we can pay her so the kids can stay there instead. It would save them the exhausting commutes."

"I almost forgot! I’ll ask about it tomorrow."

The next day, Zhang Yun went to inquire and brought back the keys that evening.

The other party didn’t want money, saying that it was better to have someone living in the house, as it would feel lively and save her the trouble of having to run there every few days.

In the evening, after the two of them finished school and returned home, Zhang Yun handed the keys to An Hao, "I’ll have the security officer Xiaoliu clean up tomorrow and move your things over. You can just head there with the keys tonight. I have a spare set, so don’t worry about it."

Qin Jian was also pleased with the decision, as it saved the trouble of the daily commute, especially for him, since he wouldn’t have to run back to the academy for morning exercises before dawn anymore.

After Qin Jian and An Hao moved in, Zhang Yun had everything neatly arranged at home. On the weekend, Gu Shuangshuang clamored to have dinner at An Hao’s place.
