Chapter 630: Chapter 630: Call Me Brother and I’ll Give It to You
Cheng Yue’s reaction was quite swift, and with a quick turn of his head, he dodged An Hao’s attack.
Taking a few steps back, Cheng Yue widened the gap between them, wearing a playful grin as he said, "Little junior sister, you’re quite impressive! You even know my nickname. Back at home, my sister calls me ’little bastard.’
An Hao felt annoyed just looking at his bastard-like demeanor.
She wanted to lash out at him with a few choice words, but then it occurred to her, wasn’t this guy bothering her just because he wanted to talk to her more?
She couldn’t fall for that, playing right into his hands.
An Hao ignored him and rolled up her book to move to another spot.
The librarian, having seen Cheng Yue bothering a girl, sternly admonished him, reminding him to observe the library’s rules.
Cheng Yue glanced at the librarian, ignored him completely, and followed An Hao.
After An Hao moved to another spot and put her book on the desk, she went to the shelves to select books, which Yan Ye had previously recommended she study on her own.
After looking through the shelves in the library, An Hao found the book she was searching for and reached out to grab it.
But just as she touched the book, someone else quickly snatched it away.
Before she could speak, she saw that face — handsome but extremely annoying.
"Oh, so this was the book you were looking for?" Cheng Yue flipped through it briefly and then handed it to An Hao. "Here you go!"
An Hao stared at him with cold eyes.
Noticing that An Hao was getting angry, Cheng Yue pushed the book closer to her, "I’m serious, the book is for you!"
An Hao, seeing that he finally stopped messing with her and got serious, reached out for the book.
Unexpectedly, this shameless guy swiftly pulled the book back again: "You don’t want it? If you don’t take it, I’ll just go away with it."
"Is this fun for you?" An Hao raised an eyebrow and glared at him.
"Of course," Cheng Yue said smugly, shaking the book in his hand. "Do you want it? If you want it, just call me ’brother,’ and I’ll give it to you."
An Hao ignored him, her gaze scanning the shelves.
"You don’t need to look anymore, this book is the only copy." This was a book Professor Yan had once recommended to him, and he had already memorized its contents.
"Then keep it," An Hao said indifferently before turning back to her seat, picking up her own book, and walking away.
Cheng Yue, feeling unamused by her reaction, watched An Hao’s retreating figure with reluctance.
Such a beautiful and feisty girl, she was the only one who matched him, Cheng Yue.
Cheng Yue borrowed the book from the library and stashed it in his military backpack, slinging it over his shoulder as he left the library.
An Hao was already out of sight; he didn’t know where she had gone.
Thinking it over, Cheng Yue decided to head to the girls’ dormitory. He had only gone halfway when he spotted Zhang Chaoqian leisurely coming his way on a bicycle.
Seeing Cheng Yue heading toward the girls’ dormitory on his bike, Zhang Chaoqian pedaled hard to catch up and blocked his path: "Cheng Yue, are you going to see the little junior sister again?"
"Pah! Is ’little junior sister’ also for you to call?" Cheng Yue spat on the ground.
"So, what should I call her? ’Junior sister-in-law’?" Zhang Chaoqian was only two months older than Cheng Yue; calling her ’sister-in-law’ was certainly out of the question.
Cheng Yue disliked that term even more and waved his hand dismissively: "Just call her by her name."
"Alright, having a name to call makes things easier," Zhang Chaoqian said, adjusting his glasses. "You don’t need to go to the dorm; I saw her heading in the direction of the university’s back gate."
The university had two gates, the main gate, which faced north to south, and the other was the north gate, also known as the back gate.
"What’s she doing going out so late?" Cheng Yue wondered.
