Those two stood straight as rods, like a pair of door gods.

The line of people looked like they were here for an interview, as Erzhuzi called out, "Next!"

A woman in her forties made her way from the courtyard into the north room.

Liu Xiaolian called out, "Introduce yourself."

"My name’s not important, what matters is my daughter. She’s sixteen today, a real beauty with a fair, slightly chubby face..."

"Is your daughter a white radish?" Erzhuzi couldn’t help but shout, "Quit the nonsense and get to the point."

"Aye," the woman continued, "she’s got beautiful big eyes, and her lower lip is red and plump, really quite charming. She’s got a good temper, is skilled with needlework, and respects her elders..."

"You’re getting off-track! Auntie, you’re getting off-track," Liu Xiaolian hurriedly reminded her.
