Chapter 595: Chapter 595: Rogue Outpost

"Guan Kexin is completely clueless!" Cheng Yue kicked off his shoes and lay down on his bed, the image of An Hao’s dimpled smile flashed before his eyes, and his heart felt as if it had been scratched by cat’s claws.

"Aiya! Look at our little Overlord, falling head over heels!"

"It’s not easy, my man, after living for twenty years, you’ve suddenly become interested in women! Come on, let’s make this the next key research topic for our dorm!" Li Zhi said, clapping his hands with laughter.

Cheng Yue was so delighted that he almost had bubbles in his eyes.

An Hao, you can’t escape! Just wait until I hold you in the palm of my hand!

When the week’s classes ended, An Hao went to the school library over the weekend to look for a book but didn’t find the one she needed.

The librarian told her she might find it in the city library.

So An Hao, with her small bag on her back, headed to the city library. It wasn’t far from the school; she had to walk down a scenic tree-lined avenue and turn at a nice snack street to get there.

An Hao decided to walk there.

She originally wanted to go with Gu Shuangshuang, but that guy was cooped up in the dorm writing love letters to Tian Niu and had no time for her.

So, An Hao went by herself.

The weather was fine, the sky was a clear blue with the occasional cloud drifting by.

An Hao walked briskly ahead; there weren’t many people on this road and the trees provided plenty of shade. The wind rustled through the leaves, causing An Hao’s skirt to flutter lightly, making her look from a distance like a flame dancing through the woods.

An Hao hummed a little tune to herself, and her mood lifted along with the melody.

Suddenly, a long whistle sounded behind her. An Hao stopped and looked back.

She saw three or four young men, dressed in military uniform, lazily cycling their bikes.

An Hao smiled and continued on her way.

Then the whistling began again, not just one whistle this time, but several, a mix of long and short, echoing behind her.

An Hao stopped and looked around, only to realize the whistles were directed at her.

In those days, that kind of whistle was known as a ’ruffian whistle,’ blown only by hooligans who loafed around on the streets.

Yet they were clearly wearing military uniforms!

Regardless of what they were wearing, An Hao didn’t want to deal with these guys.

She turned and hurried her pace.

"Cheng Yue, your little hot pepper is ignoring you!" Li Zhi leisurely cycled alongside, turning his head to Cheng Yue and teasing him.

"Chase her down! Give her a French kiss when you catch her!" Zhang Chaoqian adjusted his glasses and instructed.

"Glasses boy, look at you go! You even know about French kisses," Li Zhi laughed heartily. "Your mom did you justice with your name, Chaoqian, Chaoqian, always ahead of the times!"

"Cheng Yue, aren’t you going to do something about Li Zhi?" Zhang Chaoqian complained to Cheng Yue about Li Zhi’s teasing.

Cheng Yue didn’t even give his complaint a second thought and pedaled fiercely to catch up.

Li Zhi and Zhang Chaoqian quickly followed suit.

The sound of the whistle rose again in her ears, and An Hao, not wanting to deal at all, sped up and began to run.

"Hey, An Hao! Why are you running?"

When she heard someone calling her name, An Hao turned her head for a glance, and it was Cheng Yue.

This persistent guy actually knew her name.

"Hey, where are you heading? I’ll give you a ride on my bike," Cheng Yue said with a playful grin.

"What’s it to you where I’m going? Is it any of your business?" Is this guy sick in the head? And way too shameless.

An Hao spoke while quickening her pace.

Cheng Yue followed closely on his bike, leaning over to talk with her: "Why are you so resistant to me? I just want to be friends with you!"
