Chapter 573: Chapter 573: This Doesn’t Seem Like Your Daughter-in-law
"What’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?" Yang Dahe noticed that An Hao’s complexion was very poor.
"I think I have a fever," An Hao felt light-headed and weak. "Dahe, I might not be able to make it to the clinic on my own, could you please take me there?"
An Hao didn’t want to ask for Yang Dahe’s help unless it was absolutely necessary.
His wife made a big deal out of everything, who could stand it.
"Alright, alright, alright. Come with me!" Yang Dahe readily agreed.
One behind the other, they walked out, and as soon as they left the residential compound, Yang Dahe borrowed a bicycle from the guard post.
"Come on, get on, An Hao!" When Yang Dahe helped An Hao onto the bike, he touched her arm and could feel the scorching heat of her body.
So, he quickly mounted the bike and pedaled furiously to the clinic.
By the time they reached the clinic, An Hao was already in a semi-comatose state.
Yang Dahe lifted her off the bike and carried her straight into the clinic. "Doctor Zhou, please check on her quickly, she’s so feverish she’s become delirious."
Doctor Zhou touched An Hao’s forehead and immediately withdrew his hand, "The temperature is really high, it’s got to be over forty degrees. Wait a moment, I’ll give her an injection. Fever relief injections work much better than pills."
An Hao only felt a cool liquid entering her body, bringing a moment of relief.
She heard someone incessantly telling her, "Come on, open your mouth!"
She numbly followed the instructions and slowly opened her mouth.
"Her tonsils are inflamed and congested. I’ll give her an anti-inflammatory injection, then get some medicine for you to take her home with. Make sure she drinks plenty of water and rests in the morning," said Doctor Zhou.
"Okay," answered Yang Dahe with a nod.
After the injections were done, Doctor Zhou looked at An Hao and remarked, "She doesn’t look like your daughter-in-law, does she??"
"She’s Staff Officer Qin’s wife!" said Yang Dahe. "He went to a meeting at the division with the regiment commander, and I ran into her downstairs. She had a high fever."
"Make sure she drinks plenty of water when you get back," Doctor Zhou advised again.
"Thank you, Doctor Zhou! See you later!"
Yang Dahe carried An Hao back on the bicycle and parked it downstairs before helping her off.
Yang Erxiu saw that the rain had stopped and went out to play in the puddles wearing sandals.
Suddenly she saw her father with the ’little demoness’. He was affectionately holding the ’little demoness’s’ arm, carefully ensuring she didn’t fall.
Yang Dahe thought if he went up to An Hao’s home alone, it would be bad for Qin Jian, himself, and An Hao if gossip started circulating.
His own wife was a troublemaker, and if he could avoid involving her, he would.
Better to knock on Li Zecheng’s door on the second floor; that way, Zhang Guifang could also vouch for him.
Yang Dahe, supporting An Hao, went up to the second floor to knock on Li Zecheng’s door, but no one came to open it.
He hesitated for a moment, then decided to take An Hao back to his place first.
He would explain everything to Qin Jian when he returned.
Once upstairs, An Hao began to show more energy as the fever-reducing injection started to work.
Sweat began to appear on her forehead, and she no longer felt so cold.
She opened her door and stood at the entrance to say goodbye to Yang Dahe, "Dahe, you can go back now. Thank you so much for today!"
"Are you sure you can manage on your own?" Yang Dahe looked at An Hao with concern.
"Yes. I can manage," An Hao said weakly.
"Alright then... make sure you drink more water. If there’s any problem, go find me. Or anyone else, for that matter. We all live in the same compound. Anyone you ask for help will be willing to lend a hand," Yang Dahe added a few more words of advice to An Hao.
