Chapter 516: Chapter 516: Caught in the Act

Qin Feng was to be married the next day, and as her sister-in-law, An Hao naturally had to go check on her. She gave Qin Feng the red envelope she had prepared in advance, reminded her of a few things, and then went to find An Ping in the fields.

In the village, weddings were lively events. Whether someone was marrying off a son or daughter, it would be broadcast over loudspeakers a day in advance.

It wasn’t for any other reason but for the atmosphere.

Therefore, on the eve of Qin Feng’s wedding, the village was bustling. Nobody noticed a dark figure slip out of the village, glancing back from time to time to see if anyone was following.

An Hao and An Ping took cover behind the greenhouse, silently communicating with their mouths.

"It looks like we were right to come tonight."

An Ping handed An Hao a wooden stick as thick as a rolling pin, "Sis, take this. If anything goes south, beat him to death with the stick!"

An Hao: "..."

If there really was trouble, it wasn’t certain who would beat whom to death!

Seeing An Hao’s uncertain gaze, An Ping patted her shoulder, "Don’t be scared! Believe in yourself, you are unmatched in fierceness! Especially when you’re in danger, your explosive power is incredibly strong."

An Hao glared at him silently, barely parting her lips to utter one word: "Scram!"

The shadow, not appearing very tall, grew closer. Although An Hao couldn’t make out her face, she could now tell this was a woman.

Women were much easier to deal with than men!

An Hao let out a quiet sigh of relief, her grip on the stick tightening.

Peering left and right and seeing no one around, the shadow arrived at the vegetable greenhouse and took out a key from her pocket to unlock it.

An Ping chose his moment and leapt out, An Hao not being able to stop him.

This fool!

Why the hurry! They always say, catch a couple for adultery, and catch the thief with the goods!

She hadn’t even opened the door to enter, and An Ping had already apprehended her, giving her the perfect chance to deny any wrongdoing. Even if she had intended to do something wrong, this was, at most, an attempted crime.

This changed the nature of the incident entirely.

An Ping jumped out, knocked her down with a kick, and sat astride her, pinning her to the ground.

"Who are you?" An Ping reached toward his waist to grab the flashlight hanging on his belt, only to hear a weak voice say, "Don’t, don’t turn on the flashlight."

Even though she hushed her voice, An Hao recognized it—it was none other than Song Yueqin!

This persistent pest!

Last time, Gu Shuangshuang had been too light on her!

Old habits die hard! She couldn’t stand it if she didn’t stir up trouble every three days.

Remembering the mischief Song Yueqin had caused, An Hao angrily swung the stick down. In the darkness, she aimed at the shadow on the ground and struck: "That’ll teach you to be a thief! That’ll stop you from misbehaving!"

The blows from the stick were painfully sharp, and Song Yueqin couldn’t help but scream, "Stop! Please stop!"

An Hao ignored her, continuing to swing until her own anger subsided, then she stopped and took the flashlight from An Ping to turn it on.

The bright beam illuminated Song Yueqin’s face, revealing her eyes filled with terror: "An... An Hao..."

An Hao looked down at her, her eyes brimming with anger: "Song Yueqin, have you got addicted to doing things that can’t bear the light of day? It’s time we settled our accounts properly."
