Chapter 469: Chapter 469 The Female Bandit Gets Angry
"Eh? Where’s An Ping?" An Hao asked, puzzled.
Qin Jian, holding a broom and sweeping the ox cart, replied, "When I was busy just now, I heard him say something about going to the bathroom."
"How much time has gone by and he’s still not back?" An Hao frowned and said, "He really isn’t someone who gives peace of mind. It’s so late now, and his not coming back is really worrisome..."
"No need to worry about him. He’s a big lad and won’t stir up trouble. An Ping is a smart kid. Despite always joking around and not seeming serious, he actually knows his boundaries," Qin Jian comforted her.
"Alright then. Let’s wait for him a bit longer." An Hao packed up a bunch of money with a bulging purse, then sat next to the ox cart with Qin Jian to wait for him.
The market had dispersed, and it was completely dark.
The north wind howled, and despite being well-clothed, An Hao couldn’t stand the cold. The sky began to float with goose-feather sized snowflakes, and An Hao sought refuge in Qin Jian’s arms, shivering from the cold.
Qin Jian took An Hao’s ice-cold hands in his and warmed them, both of them freezing in place as they waited, hands and feet chilly, their entire bodies going stiff with cold.
Feeling that this was no good, Qin Jian looked around the town and spotted a beef noodle restaurant not far away, "An Hao, let’s tie up the ox here. It’s getting late. We should go to the beef noodle restaurant and have a bowl of noodles to warm up. If An Ping comes back, he’ll see the ox cart. Since there’s no one around, he’ll definitely look for us. The restaurant isn’t far, and we can keep an eye on this place."
"Hmm. I’ll listen to you," An Hao nodded, and the two of them, hand in hand, headed toward the noodle restaurant.
It was icy and snowy outside, but inside the restaurant, it was steaming hot.
It was mealtime, and a few people were eating inside.
An Hao chose a relatively clean table and had just sat down when she saw someone lying on the opposite table. That person looked familiar— if not An Ping, who else could it be?
Seeing this, An Hao was so angry she was smoking with rage; such a thing could actually happen.
She and Qin Jian had slaved away in the chilling north wind, while he had the nerve to come here, drink hot tea, and sleep soundly.
An Hao was about to stand up and drag An Ping out when Qin Jian held her down. He picked up the teapot from the table, poured a cup for his wife, and handed it to An Hao, "Have some water to cool down! I’ll go wake him up."
Qin Jian walked over and gently tapped An Ping on the shoulder.
An Ping was sleeping deeply and, feeling someone tapping his shoulder, lifted his head and rubbed his eyes. Upon seeing Qin Jian’s faintly smiling handsome face before him, he said,
"Brother-in-law! What brings you here?" Once he came to his senses, he stretched, smiling awkwardly, "Sorry, brother-in-law. It was just so cold, and you two were doing so well selling without needing my help, so I just came here. We can’t all be freezing, can we?"
Qin Jian raised an eyebrow and looked at him, saying nothing.
"You’re not angry, right, brother-in-law? Heh heh! It won’t happen again; it won’t happen again..."
Qin Jian pointed to An Hao, who was sitting not far away, "There’s no use talking to me. Go talk to your sister."
Following Qin Jian’s direction, An Ping looked over and caught sight of An Hao’s unnervingly calm smile; he instantly shuddered.
The female bandit is angry... the consequences are severe...
Grinning, An Ping took a seat in front of An Hao, "Big sis, you’re not mad, are you?"
"What if I am mad?" An Hao looked at him.
"Don’t be like that! Don’t be like that! I know you love me the most, right?" An Ping grinned at An Hao, "Sis, since we’re already here, why don’t we order a bowl of beef noodles? And how about a plate of stir-fried chili beef? Eat something hot and then go home."
There was a slight upturn at the corner of An Hao’s mouth, "Alright! Let’s do that."
Seeing An Hao’s excessively gentle demeanor, he shivered all over. She was clearly smiling, so why did he have a very bad feeling?
