There are two military leaders downstairs looking for An Hao! You better go down and check it out; they’ve been waiting for a while now."

"Oh my, Auntie, why didn’t you say so earlier!" Gu Shuangshuang exclaimed excitedly upon hearing this. "It must be your fiancé who’s here! Come on, let’s go down and see!"

"Hey, he’s my fiancé, what are you so excited about?" An Hao looked at Gu Shuangshuang, puzzled, as she watched her large, round eyes spinning wildly, pondering some mischief. "Shuangshuang! You better not still have other feelings for Qin Jian, do you?"

"Nonsense!" Gu Shuangshuang cut her off immediately, jumping down from the top bunk like an agile monkey. "He’s your man! How could I have any thoughts about him?"

"Then why are you so excited?" An Hao seemed to have a vague guess about the reason.

"Oh, nevermind why I’m excited. All I know is that if you don’t go down now, Staff Chief Qin downstairs will get really worked up..." Gu Shuangshuang pulled An Hao, and the two of them ran down the stairs in a flurry.

This month, another guy invited An Hao to the movies. A few days ago, the guys in the class even discussed how An Hao is the prettiest and the hardest girl to pursue."

"Gu Shuangshuang, you traitor," An Hao glared at her, "What was my response to these advances then?"

"Report to the Staff Chief! Your little wife is loyal to you and you alone." Gu Shuangshuang said to An Hao with a grin, "This is what you call ’depreciation before appreciation’. It’s a rhetorical device!"

"You’re using it wrong. This isn’t ’depreciation before appreciation’! This is called being breathless with words," An Hao retorted annoyed.

Tian Niu, overhearing their conversation, began sharing his own opinions on looks ceaselessly, "Tell me, what’s the point of being so good-looking? People chase after you non-stop, and a bunch of romantic options—it’s enough to drive anyone crazy! Look at me, I’m not exactly handsome, but I’m not ugly either! Definitely, I don’t have as many troubles. Besides, I’m also loyal in relationships!"

Gu Shuangshuang rolled her eyes at him, "Instructor Tian, there’s a saying, ’sour grapes’. Ever heard of it?"
