Before she knew it, another weekend had arrived, and An Hao headed to the clothing store early in the morning. It had been quite a while since her last visit, and she was curious how the business was doing.

After popping in, the store owner handed her a wad of cash.

Her share of the sales for two months came to over five thousand yuan!

While there, she contributed some sales strategies to the owner and discussed the future fashion trends and directions, telling him what kind of clothes would be popular in the upcoming season.

One can’t just coast through life; if she was able to predict fashion trends, she needed to make good use of them.

After all, in the eighties, owning a small stall could make one rich!

Upon leaving the clothing store, An Hao quickly found a bank nearby to deposit the money and then went to the seafood market to buy a good amount of small fish and beef, along with plenty of peanuts and walnut kernels. She planned to go home and take a look around.

Once home, she gave some money to An Shuchao and An Ping, insisting they make sure to take good care of the greenhouses. She also brought them a few books to study up on vegetable farming.

Once at home, she worked through the night to prepare delicious food. She gutted the fish, cleaned them thoroughly, and removed excess moisture, then added salt in a measured ratio and rubbed it in to marinate.

She especially added chili and Sichuan peppercorns to marinate overnight. The next day, she took them out to air dry until halfway done, disinfected a ceramic pot with liquor, arranged the fish neatly inside, sealed it, and stored it. After marination, they would be ready in a month, with a rosy hue and perfect for steaming, frying, or stewing.

After preparing the fish, An Hao also cooked beef and made desserts like peanut dip and caramel walnuts, plus several large jars of chili sauce!

After busying herself for two whole days and preparing so much food, it was An Ping who saw her off in the car, teasing her again about her outgoing nature and how she was bustling about even before getting married.

An Hao didn’t mind and, with her goodies in tow, headed straight for the military base.

As it happened, Qin Jian had just wrapped up a meeting with everyone when he saw An Hao coming with delicious treats, and a crowd immediately surrounded her. "Wow, sister-in-law’s here! What tasty goodies have you brought?"

The aroma of the marinated beef was so enticing that before An Hao could reply, a few of the more gluttonous ones had already opened the bags.

Seeing the large chunks of marinated beef, their eyes lit up: "Beef! Sister-in-law, you are simply the best person in the world!"

An Hao couldn’t help but laugh as she watched these warriors, who were tormented by the military canteen’s food.

But the treats were limited, and with more wolves than meat, she didn’t know how to divide them.

These warriors were all the same to her; she couldn’t play favorites!

So she looked to Qin Jian with a plea for help in her eyes.

Qin Jian coughed twice, and the warriors cleared a path. "Commander!"

"Hmm," Qin Jian nodded, noticing how much An Hao had prepared during the weekend and that it must have taken quite some effort to transport everything there.

He felt a pang of pity for An Hao, but when the words reached his lips, they took a teasing turn, laced with mild reproach, "Are you too idle on weekends? Don’t you have homework to do?"

Upon hearing this, An Hao glared at him and retorted, "I am too idle! You’re absolutely right, it seems I shouldn’t have come. I’ll leave right now!"

Saying so, she closed her bag and pretended to turn and walk away.

Her threat to leave had the warriors in a panic: "Sister-in-law! Don’t go! We’ve been eagerly waiting for your visit."
