Chapter 350: Chapter 350: The Thing I Fear Most is Your Tears

"What?"

"Your tears! When you cry, I’m a bit at a loss."

"Fine. Then if you’re ever mean to me, I’ll just cry for you to see." An Hao looked at him with a teasing gleam in her eye, her words carrying a hint of coquetry.

Qin Jian had seen An Hao in her gentle moments, her fiery ones, and her shy ones, but this was the first time he had seen her act with such girlish charm.

But then again, she was only around eighteen or nineteen years old, so it was normal for her to act a little spoiled.

Watching her look like a wronged young bride, An Hao melted his heart.

"If I’m ever mean to you in the future, you just be mean right back to me!" Qin Jian raised his hand to ruffle her hair, but then again, how could he bear to be harsh with her.

"I don’t want to... I just want you to feel guilty... and then pamper me..." After saying this, An Hao rested her head on his shoulder, weary, and closed her eyes.

Qin Jian felt a growing heaviness and warmth in his chest. He looked down at An Hao and realized she had fallen asleep.

"This period must have worn you out," he said with a smile, reaching out to caress her cheek, only to find her skin was surprisingly hot to the touch.

How did she suddenly come down with a fever? Qin Jian quickly told Liu Jun to speed up and rush An Hao to the PLA Hospital.

After checking An Hao, the doctor said to Qin Jian, "Let’s first treat the wound on her leg. This wound doesn’t look fresh, does it? It seems it’s a day or two old and wasn’t properly cared for; it’s a bit inflamed now. This appears to be a secondary injury. There’s no serious damage to the bone, but the gash is quite deep. It needs to be properly treated and stitched up!"

"And her fever—what’s that about?" Qin Jian promptly asked.

"Inflammation, plus she got rained on and caught a cold. Some medicine will do the job. Let me first take care of her wound."

"Okay."

As the doctor sewed up An Hao’s wound with needle and thread, noticing her staring intently, he smiled and said, "If it scares you to watch, you’d better close your eyes."

"I’m not scared. I’m a medical student, studying clinical medicine. I’ll have to perform surgeries for patients in the future!" An Hao replied.

"Well done!" The doctor had treated countless patients and found that especially girls were afraid of blood and stitches; it was rare to see a girl like An Hao.

Facing such a cooperative patient, the doctor felt relieved and readied the needle to stitch her up, but as soon as the needle pierced her skin, An Hao screamed, "Ahhh!!"

The doctor was so startled that he almost dropped his forceps, "I thought you weren’t afraid?"

An Hao’s eyes filled with tears, "It’s not the stitching I’m scared of, but the pain!" Especially since she already had a wound, and stitching over it was bound to hurt!

"If it hurts, just pinch me," Qin Jian offered, extending his arm.

"Okay." An Hao nodded, clenching her teeth tightly as she watched the doctor stitch the wound, a cold sweat breaking out on her forehead.

"All done, it’s complete. Make sure to keep the wound dry and clean in the next few days to prevent infection," the doctor cautioned after finishing the suturing, then proceeded to prescribe medication for An Hao.

Under the watchful eyes of others, Qin Jian carried her back to the car.

"Commander, where to next?" Liu Jun asked.

"Take me back to school," An Hao said listlessly.

"Let’s go to the military guesthouse. You have a fever, and I don’t feel comfortable letting you go back alone," Qin Jian said.
