Chapter 244: Chapter 241: She is my fiancée
Liang Manman felt much better after hearing Jiang Ying speak, "Why didn’t you say so earlier, Jiang Ying!"
"It’s not that." Qin Jian, who had been silent, suddenly chimed in.
"Not what?" Liang Manman saw Qin Jian speaking but didn’t understand him.
"She didn’t come here to thank me." Qin Jian lowered his head to glance at An Hao and gently placed his hand on her shoulder, "She’s my fiancée! She came over today at my invitation to discuss when we should visit her family to propose!"
Qin Jian’s words caused everyone present to be taken aback.
After realizing what he had said, Section Chief Zhang burst into laughter, "Qin Jian, you move fast! Going to propose so soon? Very impressive!"
As soon as Liang Manman heard Qin Jian was going to propose, she felt extremely upset. She had come all this way to see him, only to hear such news, and her tears were about to fall as they circled in her eyes.
"Qin Jian, I hate you!" She stomped her foot and ran out crying.
"Ah... Comrade Liang Manman..." Jiang Ying watched Liang Manman run out and wanted to chase after her, but Section Chief Zhang stopped him, "Let her go. That child’s temper has been spoiled by her parents; she won’t come back until she cools off."
"Well... Okay then."
As Section Chief Zhang gave the order, the meal began, and everyone praised the dishes prepared by An Hao incessantly.
Needless to say for Qin Jian.
Jiang Ying found An Hao’s culinary skills amazing, giving a thumbs-up while eating, "Qin Jian is truly fortunate. Marrying such a great cook and then getting to enjoy delicious meals behind closed doors every day?"
"Absolutely!" Jianguo agreed with a laugh, casually picking up a piece of Sichuan peppercorn leaf and putting it in his mouth, "Every time I eat something made by An Hao, I’m exceptionally happy. This dish is unique too; I’ll have my sister-in-law learn to make it later. After you two are married, come over to my house often and teach her your cooking skills."
"Sure." An Hao was a bit embarrassed by the praise.
"So, when are you getting married?" Jiang Ying asked Qin Jian while eating.
"That depends on An Hao’s wishes." Qin Jian fully respected her decision.
"Sister, don’t make our commander wait too long. He’s already thirty and has been holding out for so many years..." Jiang Ying teased An Hao with a laugh.
The implications of his words were suggestive, especially since the cafeteria was filled with men and she was the only woman – so awkward!
"Enough, Old Jiang. Keep the jokes appropriate. An Hao is still a young girl." Qin Jian couldn’t listen anymore.
"Hahaha, when you kissed her, why didn’t you consider that she was a young girl?" Jiang Ying unreservedly exposed Qin Jian’s secret.
An Hao’s face turned thoroughly red, red like an autumn apple.
She really couldn’t eat anymore; afraid her face would become overheated if she did, she found an excuse to step out for some air.
No sooner had she walked far from the cafeteria than she saw Liang Manman and An Ping arguing not far away, both of them very agitated.
An Hao hurried over to find out what was happening.
"Sis, doesn’t this woman have issues? After I had finished eating at Tian Niu’s place and was about to go back and pack up, I bumped into her. She started yelling without saying a word and asked who I was, why I was running around here! I told her Qin Jian is my future brother-in-law, that I was here to see him, and she just exploded, started shouting at me!"
