Chapter 213: 11111111111 (deleted)

She didn’t have time to jaw away with the mother-daughter pair today, as it was going to get dark soon, and An Ping was clamoring for her to make him intestine noodles today.

A while back, An Ping had brought home some intestines that they couldn’t finish, so An Hao had pickled them and set them aside.

Previously, she had made intestine noodles for An Ping, and after eating them, he couldn’t stop talking about how much he enjoyed it.

It was no surprise that these past few days, he was craving it again, reminding her to make intestine noodles for dinner.

If prepared well, intestines can be very fragrant and are also helpful for people with digestive issues.

As soon as she got home, An Hao took advantage of the daylight to plant the vegetable seeds she had bought, and then she washed her hands in the kitchen, ready to make noodles for An Ping.

Over at her place, Bai Xue returned home and immediately had a feast of canned food in the eastern room with her daughter Yanjiao. Bai Yanjiao then took out a box of fragrant stuff to show her mother.

"Mom, take a look at this."

Bai Xue took the box Bai Yanjiao handed over, a beautifully packaged little box emitting a delicious fragrance, so very pleasant.

"What’s this?" Bai Xue asked as she opened the box.

"Mom, this is called scent powder, it smells so good. When you dab it on your face, it even makes your skin whiter. Don’t believe me? Just watch," Bai Yanjiao said, opening the scent powder and beginning to dab it on her face in front of a small mirror.

Indeed, in just a short while, her face became noticeably whiter and emitted a strong, delightful fragrance.

Bai Yanjiao had also managed to get a tube of lipstick, which she applied to her lips, and instantly she looked fashionable.

"Wow, you look just beautiful. Just like a painted lady," Bai Xue exclaimed in admiration.

"Mom, I’m giving you this scent powder. The lipstick isn’t mine; I borrowed it from a coworker. Once I get paid next month, I’ll buy one for you," Bai Yanjiao, feeling rather flush since she had earned some money.

"It must be very expensive, right?" Bai Xue delightfully looked at the scent powder and casually asked.

"To honor my mother, no price is too high," Bai Yanjiao replied.

"Oh, now that’s my dear daughter," Bai Xue said as she pulled Bai Yanjiao into her arms.

The mother and daughter kept chatting in that room until it turned pitch dark before Bai Xue remembered it was time to cook.

Her daughter came back only once every half month, so Bai Xue wanted to prepare something delicious for her.

Once she got into the kitchen, she scooped a large bowl of flour from the sack, planning to make noodles for her daughter, and also decided to fry up a small piece of pork they had been saving as a topping.

However, when she was all ready to start cooking, she discovered there was no oil in the house.

"Mom, what are you looking for?" Bai Yanjiao walked into the kitchen, saw Bai Xue rummaging around and couldn’t help asking.

"Oh dear, it looks like we’re out of oil. Why don’t you go borrow some from Aunt Zhao in the front yard?" The closest neighbor relationship they had was with her family.

Bai Yanjiao shook her head when she heard this, "Why should we borrow oil from Auntie’s place? Why not go to An Hao’s for some oil? Doesn’t she always come to our place to take things? What’s wrong with us getting some oil from her?"

"Can you actually get it? If you go, won’t it just end up in another argument? That girl is fierce; I’m afraid you’ll be at a disadvantage!" Bai Xue cautioned.

"Afraid of what? Mom, she only won during our last encounter because she had backup! Without someone helping her, could she really beat me?" Bai Yanjiao was not at all convinced, recalling that past incident.
