Jian Ying returned to the room and immersed himself in his work diary again, while Tian Niu, not interested in that, simply went to the playground to run and stretch with some folks.

After just a couple of laps with a colleague, the other person collapsed.

Once they were tired from running, people from the same team sat together and started gossiping and chatting idly, with the conversation inevitably circling back to Qin Jian.

During the chat, one of the colleagues mentioned something he’d heard while buying things at the village’s supply and marketing cooperative that day.

It was then that Tian Niu learned that An Hao had been bullied by the Song Yueqin family, no wonder Qin Jian was feeling so uncomfortable inside.

Yueqin, being young and delicate as a tender flower, hails from a difficult family background, with a deceased mother and a father who remarried, plus a domineering and unreasonable stepsister.

Even after moving out to live alone, she still has to endure bullying from others.

That Song Yueqin girl, with a pretty decent appearance, how come she’s so full of malice?

And her mother, that shrew, even rallied a bunch of old women to join in the fray, pinching and twisting; how pitiful is the sister-in-law?

"And who are you?" he asked again.

"We... we’re your colleagues, Assistant Engineer Tian, what’s with these bewildering questions?" the younger colleagues exchanged glances, all confused.

"Let’s put it this way, I just want to ask you guys, how has Engineer Qin been to you all?" Tian Niu inquired.

"He’s been great! No complaints! Engineer Qin is like our big brother; he’s been nothing but good to us," they all concurred.

"He doesn’t hold back anything academically; he has taught us everything he can!"

"Last time my family was having a tough time, my mom came to get medical treatment, and after Engineer Qin found out, he helped me get in touch with the hospital, found a contact, and even advanced the medical expenses. It truly moved my whole family!"

"With words like that, it’s decided! If Engineer Qin encounters a problem, would you or wouldn’t you help?" Tian Niu pressed on.

"Of course, we’d help! Definitely! Without a doubt!" the colleagues energetically raised their hands.

"Alright then, let’s put it plainly, we’re going to take revenge for Engineer Qin’s woman!"

After Tian Niu said this, everyone suddenly fell silent until they murmured among themselves about what he had heard, and then they all grasped what was going on.

"Assistant Engineer Tian, I’m willing to take revenge for sister-in-law, but what if Engineer Qin finds out and gets angry?" Lin Chen, a colleague of Tian Niu’s ilk, said.

"That’s unlikely," another colleague remarked.

For the sake of Engineer Qin getting a wife, they had all been worried sick.

"Are you dumb? Can’t you just keep it from Engineer Qin?" Tian Niu scolded quietly, "Besides, that’s exactly why I’m thinking of organizing a ’suicide squad’, right? Who wants to join, sign up now!"

Lin Chen, being of the same mold as Tian Niu, chuckled and raised his hand: "I sign up! But if Engineer Qin ends up punishing us for this, you can’t take all the blame alone, can you?"

"Exactly, exactly!" the others chimed in agreement.

"Nonsense! Can I alone bear that many punishments?" Tian Niu retorted, and with that, slapped Squad Leader Lin Chen on the head, "You little rascal, you’ve been getting cozy with Manager Chang’s assistant lately. Are you planning to infuriate me to death and then defect to him or what?"

"My conscience is clear, I wouldn’t dare!" Lin Chen hurriedly pleaded innocence, "My loyalty to Brother Tian Niu is clear for all heavens to see!"

"Enough, stop farting around with your grand statements!" Tian Niu waved his hand and pointed at a few colleagues, "You, you, and you, along with me and Lin Chen, the five of us will do just fine. Let’s figure out a way to properly deal with that old lady from the Song family!"
