Chapter 193: Chapter 192: The resemblance, it’s uncanny...

An Hao’s book had been ruined and was no longer usable, so he took this opportunity to buy her a new one.

After purchasing the book An Hao needed from Xinhua Bookstore, he also chose a set of review questions with slightly higher difficulty.

After paying, Qin Jian walked out with the books in hand.

He had just opened his car door and placed the books inside when he heard a commotion not far away.

A woman’s voice, frantic and piercing, followed immediately.

"Old Ning, what’s the matter with you? Don’t scare me! Help! Help!"

Without a second thought, Qin Jian dashed into the crowd.

When he saw the patient, the man was clutching his chest, his face turning purple, his lips cyanotic, and his breathing was labored as if he might pass out at any moment.

"Make way, everyone! Please disperse quickly!" Qin Jian shouted, then hurried forward to support the man who had suddenly fallen ill and moved him to his own car.

Qin Jian struggled to get the man into the car, laid him flat on the back seat, and beckoned the tearful woman to get in.

"Find the nearest hospital," Qin Jian told Liu Jun.

"Provincial People’s Hospital," the older woman blurted out a name quickly.

"Directions," Qin Jian asked, pressing his lips together.

"Cross this street, turn right at the next road intersection, and it’s the third traffic light," the woman said.

Qin Jian swiftly started the car and drove towards the Provincial People’s Hospital, following the woman’s directions.

Luckily, the Provincial People’s Hospital was not far; it took only a short fifteen minutes to arrive, and the car stopped in front of the hospital entrance.

Qin Jian got out and without a word, rushed to the emergency department to explain the situation to the doctors.

The doctors quickly came out with a surgery cart to meet the man at the entrance.

Soon, the patient was taken to the operating room.

During the wait, the woman was extremely anxious, pacing back and forth, unable to settle down.

"Don’t worry, he shouldn’t have any serious problems," Qin Jian approached to try to comfort her.

Only then did the old lady snap out of her own world and hurried to thank Qin Jian, "Thank you, thank you!"

"No need to thank me, don’t be too polite. I just happened to be there, so I lent a hand! No one would stand by and not help!"

The old lady kept thanking him, and when the doctor came out of the operating room, she updated her on the patient’s condition, "The patient is stable, and the surgery was completed quickly. Please don’t worry."

After hearing the doctor’s words, the old lady’s heart finally settled down.

Qin Jian, who had been waiting outside the operating room, felt relieved to hear that the patient was out of danger and turned to leave.

Realizing this, the old lady quickly chased after him to thank him again, "Comrade, thank you so much... If it hadn’t been for you, our Old Ning might really have... I don’t know which unit you’re from... Later, Old Ning and I will personally deliver a banner of thanks to your unit, and they must commend a good comrade like you..."

She hadn’t finished speaking when her eyes began to measure Qin Jian’s face with a strange look in them.

And she muttered to herself, "He looks... so much alike... really looks like him..."

Qin Jian was perplexed and was about to ask what the old lady meant when the doors of the operating room opened.

The elderly man was wheeled out, and the old lady, overcome with emotion, rushed over to him.
