"That’s great!" Lin Qiushu was overjoyed. She didn’t expect that after tonight’s peril, there could actually be another windfall, "When will you take me there?"

"Is your schedule always flexible?" Qin Jian asked.

"I’m always free." Lin Qiushu knew about the lack of freedom Qin Jian had in the military, so she said to him, "Then it depends on your schedule. Whenever you’re free, just take me with you."

"Okay." Qin Jian agreed.

"Congratulations, Qiushu! After all these years of investigation, you’re finally about to get results. I’m happy for your grandmother as well."

"When this matter of our family is resolved, I’ll be sure to thank you all properly." Lin Qiushu said gratefully.

An Hao’s lips curved into a smile as she looked at her, "Why thank me? I think there’s no need for the word ’thanks’ between us anymore."

Lin Qiushu thought about it and agreed, "Our relationship has been so intertwined and tangled, it’s unclear who owes whom anymore."

"Does this make us sort of soulmates?" An Hao asked with a smile.

"What we have is like a high mountain and flowing river meeting a confidant." Lin Qiushu gave An Hao a high compliment, "I, Lin Qiushu, seldom admire someone, but you really have broadened my horizons. I truly like and admire you from the bottom of my heart!"

"What do you admire about me? My stubbornness? Or my eccentricity?"

"Both, I guess!"

"Ha ha ha! I just love how straightforward you are."

When women start chatting, it can be a very frightening thing. Qin Jian glanced at his watch, noting that it was already the early hours of the morning, and he couldn’t help but remind An Hao that she should be getting back home.

"Sorry about that! I lost track of time talking with you. When you’re free, come over to my house for tea," Lin Qiushu extended an invitation.

"Sure." An Hao agreed without any hesitation, "Let’s all head back, An Ping is alright. He’ll be fine after sleeping it off in the hospital, I’ll come and check on him tomorrow! You’ve had quite a shock today too, go back and rest up early."

"Alright then, let’s head out together..." Lin Qiushu was just finishing her sentence when she moved her foot and felt a piercing pain at her ankle.

She frowned, looked down at her foot, and saw that her ankle was swollen like a big bun; the skin turning purplish, clearly showing signs of bruising.

"Is your foot injured that badly?" An Hao saw her swollen ankle, "You can’t walk like this, seems like you need a doctor to take a look."

"Aren’t you a doctor? Take a look at it for me." Lin Qiushu felt it wasn’t anything serious and since An Hao was a doctor she should check it out, to avoid the hassle of registering at the hospital.

"I am a doctor, sure. But just looking won’t do, need to apply ointment, reduce swelling! I don’t have those things with me. Besides, I’m just an intern right now. It’s going to take some time before I’m fully qualified," An Hao explained.

"Then we have no choice but to call a doctor."

"I’ll go," Qin Jian said with a smile, "Wait here for a moment."

Yan Ye had just finished the night rounds, everything was normal in the ward and he reported the situation to the doctor on duty with him. He was about to head back to the duty room to change when he heard someone calling him.

He turned around and followed the sound, coincidentally seeing Qin Jian.

"Why are you here so late? Is Uncle Ning feeling unwell?" Yan Ye asked considerately.

"No, it’s not that. An Hao’s friend has twisted her ankle, could you take a look?"
