Chapter 1282: Chapter 1282: Perhaps It’s Not Certain Even If Mistaken

"It’s her!" Lin Qiushu said to her grandmother, "Do you see that pregnant woman? It’s her!"

"Is it her?" The elder’s eyes, calm just moments ago, now churned with waves, "Are you certain?"

"I’m not!" Lin Qiushu shook her head, "Perhaps I am mistaken!"

"Then let’s take it slow! My old body isn’t what it used to be, but I can still wait," the old woman murmured.

"Mhm." Lin Qiushu nodded.

An Hao was taking a walk in the garden when she noticed from the corner of her eye that someone was staring at her. She was intrigued and looked toward the source of the gaze, only to see Lin Qiushu and an old person standing among the flowers, watching her.

Maybe they meant no harm, but An Hao disliked the sensation of being surreptitiously sized up, so she lifted her chin at them and, without hesitation, turned and left.

"A girl with quite a character," Lin Qiushu’s lips curled slightly.

The old woman glanced at Lin Qiushu and asked with a smile, "From the sound of it, you seem to admire this girl quite a bit!"

Lin Qiushu smiled faintly, "Hmm. I suppose so!"

"It’s rare for my Qiushu to take a liking to someone!"

"Grandma, are you saying I have high standards or that I’m not easy to get along with?"

"Of course, I’m praising you. Can’t you even tell that?"

"Hmph! Your words are always so mixed with truth and jest, who would dare to take them seriously?"

The old woman laughed, "But I have never deceived my Qiushu!"

"Barely," she conceded.

When it was almost seven o’clock, Lin Qiushu told her grandmother that she had arranged to have dinner with someone that evening and sought her opinion on whether to go.

The elder had no intention of going, after all, the other party had only invited Qiushu and not her.

Moreover, at her age, she didn’t have much of an appetite and didn’t have much in common with the younger generation; it would be better not to get in the way.

So, Lin Qiushu sent her grandmother back and then went to find Gu Shuangshuang.

...........................

An Hao ate alone, spending her time in her room with nothing to do, she flipped through the books she had brought with her.

The way that old person looked at her today lingered in An Hao’s mind.

It was this gaze that unsettled her, causing her discomfort. She didn’t like this feeling and shook her head, trying to clear it from her thoughts.

Just then, the door banged loudly, instantly dispelling the irritation in her heart.

An Hao stood up to open the door, not expecting that, upon opening it, the tall and straight figure would be standing right in front of her.

It was an unexpected delight!

"Qin Jian! Why did you come at this time?" An Hao asked joyfully.

"Didn’t I say I’d come find you in the evening?" Qin Jian walked in and hugged An Hao tightly, "I’ve been worried about you all day! I wasn’t sure if you could take care of yourself all alone!"

"Don’t I look fine?" An Hao buried her head in his chest, inhaling the scent of soap on his clothing, and whispered, "You really don’t need to worry about me. It’s just that it’s too lonely on my own, I wish you could spend more time with me when you’re off work."

"What about Gu Shuangshuang? Where is she?" Qin Jian noted that he had yet to see a glimpse of Gu Shuangshuang.

"She is her, and you are you! She can’t replace you!"

Qin Jian gave a light laugh, "Just wait a couple of days. Once I’m not so busy, I will definitely spend a few days with you!"
