Chapter 1268: Chapter 1268: Keeping It From Her
Qin Jian answered the phone and hurried to the hospital, where An Ping had already been taken to the examination room to check for any brain damage.
An Shuchao was squatting in the corridor outside, silently smoking a cigarette.
Seeing Qin Jian come over, he quickly stood up, and before he could speak, his eyes reddened.
Qin Jian held his hand and said to him, "Dad, don’t worry. An Ping will be fine, you can rest easy with me here!"
"Okay. Okay." An Shuchao quickly agreed.
Qin Jian went upstairs to find Ji Chuan to inquire about An Ping’s situation. Ji Chuan told him that the neurosurgery wasn’t performed by him.
But he could help inquire about the situation or give a heads up to that department to take special care of the patient.
Qin Jian thanked Ji Chuan profusely.
Ji Chuan went to the neurosurgery department, informed them there, and checked on the situation.
The neurosurgery team assured him not to worry, as the hospital had experience in handling such cases.
The hospital quickly arranged for surgery, and after the procedure, An Ping was transferred to the intensive care unit.
After passing the critical forty-eight hours, he could be moved to a regular ward.
During those forty-eight hours, An Ping didn’t need someone to stay with him for care, as the hospital nurses were specifically responsible for this.
Therefore, Qin Jian gave An Shuchao the keys to their apartment in the military residential area, told him to stay there for a couple of days, and instructed him not to tell An Hao anything.
An Shuchao understood his son-in-law’s feelings, as he didn’t want his daughter to suffer any mishaps because of his son’s situation.
So, he settled into the military residence.
An Hao was somewhat distracted all day, although Zhang Yun smilingly assured her that nothing was amiss, An Hao still felt somewhat panicked.
Since those two dreams, she hadn’t dreamed again, but she felt that whenever she was uneasily anxious, something significant tended to happen.
Zhang Yun was also surprised by her daughter-in-law’s intuition.
But no matter how much An Hao guessed, she always refrained from revealing her fears to An Hao.
By evening, the rain had stopped, and Qin Jian returned.
As soon as he entered the door, before he could even catch his breath, Zhang Yun pulled him into the kitchen, "How is it? An Ping is okay, right?"
"He should be fine. The doctor said the surgery was very successful, and he’s now in the intensive care unit." Qin Jian said.
"That’s good! Remember to keep it from An Hao!" Zhang Yun said.
"I know!" Qin Jian responded.
An Hao had been anxious all day, and by evening when everyone was home and no one seemed unusual, she finally calmed down.
She truly hoped her worries were unwarranted!
Three days later, An Ping was out of danger, and he was transferred from the intensive care unit to a regular ward.
An Shuchao stayed by An Ping’s side at the hospital during the day, and Qin Jian took over during the night shifts.
That meant staying up all night, something they did for more than a week.
An Shuchao felt deeply for his son-in-law, who had to train during the day and couldn’t sleep well at night.
An Ping, seeing his brother-in-law’s family doing everything they could for him, felt incredibly moved.
He had caused a lot of trouble here, needing Zhang Yun to bring meals twice every day. He truly felt sorry for the inconvenience.
He was just hoping to recover quickly, leave the hospital, and go home.
Before he knew it, the weekend arrived, and Qin Jian returned home at eight in the morning, saw that An Hao hadn’t woken up yet, washed up, took off his clothes, and went straight to bed to sleep.
He was really tired!
An Hao partially opened her eyes in the late morning to see Qin Jian sleeping beside her, realizing he was very tired, and didn’t have the heart to wake him, so she let him sleep.
