"Back already?" Qin Jian waved her over, "Come have some apple."

"Alright Mom! Let’s not extend this further! If we go on, we’ll all be changing species in this family," Qin Jian said with a crooked smile.

"Shut it! Focus on feeding your little pig!" Zhang Yun tossed out a casual remark.

"Mom!!" An Hao yelled out loud.

"Sorry, sorry, that was a slip of the tongue," Zhang Yun said, throwing over her shoulder as she walked away.

"See? Even mom says so!" Qin Jian said with a smug raise of his eyebrow, looking at her.

An Hao was irritated, gave him a sharp glare, and headed upstairs.

Seeing that his wife was angry, Qin Jian set down the knife and followed her upstairs.

Once upstairs, An Hao, seeing him, couldn’t help but feel annoyed; she pointed at the bed, "You make the bed! I want to shower and go to sleep, I don’t want to deal with you tonight."

"Need help with the shower?" Qin Jian asked.

"No need." An Hao threw back at him and turned to enter the bathroom.

Qin Jian obediently made the bed and lay on it, waiting for his wife to come out.

Soon after, An Hao emerged wrapped in a bath towel.

Qin Jian grabbed a dry towel, helped her dry her wet hair, tossed the towel aside, bent down, and swept An Hao onto the bed.

"Come on, let’s see how our precious one is doing."

He gently undid the towel around An Hao, revealing her fair and beautiful body, his gaze lingering on her abdomen.

The abdomen, which had been flat three months before, now had a slight bulge; inside were his two children.

An Hao took Qin Jian’s hand and placed it on her belly, "Feel them— in less than a month, they should start moving."

"Yeah," Qin Jian said with a smile, nodding, "I can hardly wait to see what they’ll look like when they’re born."

"I don’t know if they’re boys or girls," An Hao said with a slight concern, "What if there are two girls inside? What will we do then?"

It wasn’t that she favored boys over girls, but her in-laws seemed really keen on having grandsons.

If she were to have girls, wouldn’t that disappoint them?

"Don’t carry any burden in your heart. Whether they’re boys or girls, they are our children," Qin Jian said gently.

"Okay!" An Hao nodded.

The next morning, Qin Jian took An Hao to the hospital.
