Chapter 1197: Chapter 1197: Disliking the Feeling of Being Seen Through
"Alright then." An Hao stood up from the sofa, changed her clothes, and followed Qin Jian out.
Just as they reached the door, there was a knock. Qin Jian opened it and was surprised to see Yan Huan standing outside.
"Why is it you?" Qin Jian was somewhat surprised.
"Chief of Staff, relax! I’m not here for you this time. I’m here to see An Hao," said Yan Huan.
An Hao somewhat understood why Yan Huan was looking for her, so she stepped aside at the door and said, "Then come in."
"Let’s talk outside," Yan Huan glanced at Qin Jian and said, "Chief of Staff, I’ll borrow your wife for half an hour and then bring her back. You don’t mind, do you?"
Qin Jian cracked a smile. "I don’t mind, but you have to ensure her safety."
Yan Huan frowned slightly. "It’s clear you treat her differently."
Qin Jian: "..." Of course, An Hao is his wife, isn’t she?
The army compound at night was breezy, and the late-April weather was neither cold nor hot.
It was late spring, and the flowers in the courtyard’s flower beds were in full bloom competing for attention.
Cool breezes carried the floral fragrance everywhere, filling the air with a sweet scent.
An Hao really liked this scent; it made her feel relaxed and happy.
"How have you been at school lately?" Yan Huan walked slowly on the gravel path.
"I’ve been interning at the hospital recently. I’ve already self-studied the courses for my junior year. I’ve earned enough credits, just waiting to graduate," An Hao said.
"Oh." Yan Huan’s voice sounded a bit dejected.
"What’s wrong?" An Hao turned her head, her face breaking into a smile as she looked at her, "Are you trying to inquire about someone from me?"
"No, I was just asking casually." Yan Huan refused to admit it.
An Hao laughed, "Then what did you invite me out for? Just because you haven’t seen me in a while and missed me, so you came out to accompany me for a walk today?"
Yan Huan opened her mouth, but before she could speak, An Hao spoke again, "I’m not so narcissistic to think that, just speak up; in fact, I understand you want to inquire about Cheng Yue."
"Is it that obvious?" Yan Huan looked at An Hao in surprise.
"I don’t know about others, but I definitely understand your feelings," An Hao said with a giggly smile.
"Ugh, I hate this feeling of having my thoughts read by someone else."
"Come on, you don’t need to feel embarrassed with me. When you initially stole her husband, I saw you were pretty bold. Now that you’ve truly fallen for someone, he’s unwed and you’re unmarried, and yet you feel shy," An Hao said with a twist of her mouth, "I really don’t understand what you think?"
Since An Hao had already seen through her, Yan Huan no longer hid her feelings.
She just felt that she was much older than Cheng Yue, and she didn’t know if the young man had her in his heart. She just kept thinking about him, feeling a bit ashamed to say it out loud.
"It’s been a long time since I’ve seen him." During the holiday season, he had brought many gifts and specially came to the compound to visit his father once, played chess with him for half the day, and left without having a meal. Since then, there had been no news from him.
"He recently took an internship at the general hospital. If you want to meet him, you can go around the departments there. Who knows, there might be some unexpected gains," An Hao advised her.
