Chapter 1194: Chapter 1194: Stabbing a Knife into His Heart

With things having come to this point, Old Niu had no choice but to agree. After all, he deeply loved his daughter and couldn’t bear to see her separated from the man she loved.

Moreover, wealth didn’t matter; as long as the young couple could live a peaceful life, that was better than anything.

Niu Xiuling, too, found herself with no option but to agree. The news of her daughter’s premarital pregnancy had already spread throughout the entire village.

She guessed no one would be willing to marry her now.

Although she was dissatisfied with the soldier’s family background, there was no other choice.

Seeing her parents consent, Niu Shanshan knelt on the ground and began to sob uncontrollably.

The young warrior held her, gently patting her back, as his eyes also moistened.

"Are you done making a scene? If you’re done, stay away from our house, the An Family doesn’t welcome you anymore," An Hao called out, then gestured for her family members to head back.

Rising from the ground, Niu Shanshan hurried after An Ping, "An Ping, wait for me, I have something to tell you."

Upon hearing her, An Ping stopped in his tracks.

An Hao turned back to see her brother had stopped, spun around and walked back to stand in front of Niu Shanshan, "What more is there to say? Hasn’t your family caused enough trouble already? Haven’t you hurt An Ping enough? If you have any decency, just go, and say no more!"

"I want to apologize to him," Niu Shanshan said twitching the hem of her clothes, addressing An Hao.

"What’s the use of an apology? Where were you when it counted? You’re so selfish, you stabbed him in the heart just for your own future! Have you ever considered his feelings?" An Hao said, tilting her chin up, and looking at Niu Shanshan coldly, "The only thing you can do now is disappear from his sight—the quicker, the better. Never to appear again!"

After speaking, An Hao grabbed An Ping’s hand and headed toward the courtyard.

"An Ping, I’m sorry! It was me who used you! I’m sorry! I don’t ask for your forgiveness! I just wanted to say sorry!" Niu Shanshan shouted from behind him.

An Ping, without turning his head, went through the door, slamming it shut with a clang, blocking everything behind him out.

The arguing was done, the commotion was over, and a resolution had been reached; the neighbors who needed to disperse had done so.

The gate finally fell quiet.

The family made their way back inside, and An Ping took a seat on a stool, hanging his head silently.

"Are you okay?" An Hao gestured for her father, An Shuchao, to sit down. While checking his injuries, she asked An Ping.

"I’m fine," An Ping rubbed his face, raising his head, "Don’t worry about me. Although I feel a bit of heartache, I believe it will pass quickly."

"Good! I believe in you," An Hao said.

Qin Jian came out from the kitchen with a basin of cold water, handing a wrung-out towel to An Hao, "Apply this for cold compression; it’ll reduce the swelling quickly!"

An Hao took the towel and applied it to An Shuchao’s head, "Dad, how are you feeling now?"

An Shuchao’s head was spinning from a knock he received earlier, and after the fight, it felt even worse: "Not good, I feel somewhat dizzy."

"Do you feel nauseous or like vomiting?"

"It’s rather mild."

"Any other unusual sensations?"

"No."

"It doesn’t seem serious. I’ll treat your wound simply for now, and we’ll observe it this afternoon. If you don’t feel discomfort, it’s probably nothing serious, but if you still feel unwell, then we need to go to the hospital for a check-up," An Hao said.
