Chapter 1165: Chapter 1165: Fire Her
"Please come in."
No sooner had the director’s voice faded than Qin Jian pushed the door open and entered.
"May I know who you are?" The director, not recognizing the person who entered, asked offhand.
"I’m here to report a situation to the director," Qin Jian said with a serious expression.
"Sure, please take a seat! We welcome you to report any issues. May I ask what matter you would like to report to us?" The director spoke while glancing at the insignias on Qin Jian’s epaulets.
Two bars and two stars signified the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, likely a deputy position within the regiment.
"I’d like to discuss the internship performance of Ruan Fangfang." As he spoke, Qin Jian’s gaze inadvertently fell upon the documents on the director’s desk, which happened to be about Ruan Fangfang.
He scanned it briefly, noting that the assessment of Ruan Fangfang wasn’t very high.
Seeing his focus on the document’s content, the director instinctively covered it with his hand, "May I know what specific situation you wish to report about her?"
"I’m curious as to what kind of evaluation you are planning to give her regarding her internship performance," Qin Jian said as he placed the previous medical records and prescription forms in front of the director.
Yan Ye had already discussed this issue with him, so without looking, he knew what those items were.
However, having these documents suddenly appear in the hands of a stranger puzzled him.
"Are you a relative of the patient?" the director asked, otherwise how would the medical records be in his possession?
"No," Qin Jian did not want to engage in a drawn-out exchange of pleasantries with the director. He wished for a quick resolution to the issue, so he stated, "I’m afraid this trainee might not meet your hospital’s standards. I request that the director have this intern removed."
His request was so abrupt that it took the director by surprise, also leaving him somewhat displeased, "The appointment or dismissal of interns is a decision made after discussion by our hospital."
The implication was that he felt Qin Jian was meddling in affairs that weren’t his concern.
"Of course, I am aware. Which is why I am here to report some concerns."
"The matter you have mentioned is known to us, but it requires comprehensive consideration. Interns are bound to make mistakes, and we should give her a chance to correct them. One error shouldn’t ruin someone’s future prospects, right?" the director said.
"In other words, the mistakes she has made do not affect her continuing to intern at the hospital, nor her potential future employment?" Qin Jian said.
"I’ve already mentioned it requires a comprehensive evaluation. No doctor starts their internship without making mistakes, it’s only a matter of how many and how grave the mistakes are," the director explained to Qin Jian.
"I’ve heard that this Ruan Fangfang isn’t a graduate from a military medical university. Why is she allowed to intern at an affiliated hospital?" Since the director did not regard these mistakes as significant, Qin Jian had to seek alternative ways to address the issue.
"Indeed, our hospital has cases like this, and they’re not against the rules," the director responded.
"Is it in accordance with the rules for an intern who makes two major mistakes to continue interning here?" Qin Jian squinted at the director.
"This..." The director hesitated.
He wasn’t clear why this military officer was so adamant about having Ruan Fangfang removed and what his motives were.
But it was obvious that his stance was very firm, leaving no room for negotiation.
"My request is straightforward: assess Ruan Fangfang fairly and justly. If she fails to meet the standard, I request that she not be allowed to stay. That is my purpose," Qin Jian said clearly.
"May I ask the reason for this?" The director was still puzzled by the situation.
