Chapter 1044: An Indirect Reminder
Chapter 1044: Chapter 1044: An Indirect Reminder
An Hao ran out of breath through half the village to her home, slamming the gate shut with a clang! She leaned against the door, panting.
Thinking about the scene where she threw a stone at Song Yuqin, An Hao let out a snort of laughter.
She deserved it!
For harboring unclean thoughts, still coveting another woman’s man!
It was already good fortune that she didn’t die from the hit!
It seemed, tomorrow, she would need to go to the Qin Family to find Qin Fen and tell him to keep a tighter leash on his wife!
Or, if that didn’t work out, he might as well divorce her.
Torturing others was actually a disguised way of tormenting oneself.
The next day, after An Hao had eaten, she went to the greenhouse to pick a basket of vegetables, and with the basket in hand, made her way to the Qin Family’s home.
The yard was eerily quiet, and voices could be heard coming from the main house.
She lifted the curtain and walked in, finding the family of four at the table eating, with Little Fengsheng absent, probably visiting his grandmother.
"An Hao is here!" As Qin Ru Hai got up to serve more rice, he noticed An Hao coming in with her basket.
"We’re just having a meal." An Hao smiled, setting her basket aside, "I haven’t been over in several days, so I came to check in. I brought some vegetables, too."
"Come and have some food with us!" Li Junping shifted to make room for An Hao to sit.
"No, thanks, I’ve already eaten. You guys go ahead!" While An Hao spoke, her gaze fell on Song Yueqin, who had a bandage wrapped around her forehead.
Blood seeped from the wound, fresh and red.
Perhaps hit harder than necessary, Song Yueqin’s head had suffered a cut, with some swelling around the brow. An Hao struggled to keep the grin off her face, thinking to herself, she deserved it!
How did you not die from that!
Song Yueqin was in the middle of eating when she noticed An Hao staring at her forehead, and feeling guilty, she blurted out, "What are you staring at? Haven’t you ever seen someone with a head injury before?"
"Yueqin! What kind of attitude is that! Is that how you speak to your sister-in-law?" Li Junping scolded her with a stern face.
"It’s okay." An Hao beamed at her, "How did you hurt your forehead? Is it serious? Maybe I should have a look, I happen to be a surgeon!"
"I don’t need your fake concern," Song Yueqin snorted.
Unfazed by her remark, An Hao instead asked, "What happened to your forehead?"
With that question, Li Junping and Qin Ru Hai both looked at Song Yueqin too, "Yeah! How did you get that injury?"
"Haven’t I already said? I bumped into it! I wasn’t careful and walked into the wall, that’s how I got hurt!" Song Yueqin lied, looking away, her eyes avoiding everyone’s faces.
"Bumped into it? Our village is only so big. I’ve lived here for over twenty years, growing up from a child; I could find my way home with my eyes closed! How did you manage to hurt your head?" An Hao laughed as she spoke.
At that, Song Yueqin slammed her chopsticks down on the table, "What do you mean by that? Are you suggesting I did this to myself?"
"I didn’t mean anything else, I’m just showing some concern. Why are you getting upset now? You tell me, wandering out late at night..." An Hao left her sentence unfinished, deliberately leaving something unsaid.
She intentionally left room for everyone’s imagination, letting Qin Fen hear and form his own ideas!
Leaving the house late at night and returning with a head injury, and becoming evasive when questioned by family, would surely give anyone some thoughts, right?
Unless Qin Fen was a fool, he should show some reaction!
