Chapter 1005: Chapter 1005: Can You Show Some Expression?

"Not tiring at all. Our house is lively tonight with Uncle Yan’s family also coming over to celebrate your discharge from the hospital,"

"Since that’s the case, it must have been troublesome for you all."

"Troublesome? Not at all! Come on in, quickly!"

Back at home, as soon as they entered the living room, Ning Yibin and Yan Luquan were seen fiercely battling it out on the chessboard.

Feng Yuzhi and Zhang Yun were helping out in the kitchen, while Yan Huan sat on the couch with a newspaper in hand, looking utterly bored, not even sure if she was actually reading it or not.

An Hao greeted Yan Luquan and Feng Yuzhi upon her return, and also thanked Yan Huan.

"Thank you for the flowers, I received them; they’re beautiful! And I’m very happy!"

"That Xiaoliu! He really has a big mouth!" Yan Huan muttered.

"If it weren’t for Xiaoliu, I wouldn’t even know the flowers were from you. Why are you blaming him?" An Hao said.

"I didn’t send you flowers to let you know." He only wanted to wish An Hao well and a speedy recovery.

The flowers were merely a representation of his kind wishes.

"I know." An Hao smiled, leaned closer to his ear and whispered softly, "Next time you want to send flowers, just do it openly! Tell me and I’ll be happy about it! Why sneak around like a thief?"

"Who’s acting like a thief? Can’t you speak properly?" Yan Huan scoffed at An Hao, "You’ve taken my good intentions to heart, so why mention it?"

"If I don’t voice my thanks, how will you know?" An Hao raised an eyebrow, looking at Yan Huan and said, "You weren’t this demure when you were pursuing Qin Jian back in the day! Now, it’s just flowers, is it really that big a deal for you?"

"You... Ugh, I can’t be bothered with you." Yan Huan sighed. She had indeed lost any hostility towards An Hao.

But suddenly being asked to transform from enemies to friends felt awkward, and she was finding it hard to adjust.

Besides, with Qin Jian looking on, it made Yan Huan feel somewhat embarrassed.

Her feelings for Qin Jian had dissipated, and now seeing him made her feel less at ease than before.

"Chief... Chief strategist..." Regardless, now that they’ve met, she had to greet him somehow.

It was all An Hao’s fault; if she hadn’t said those things, Yan Huan wouldn’t be feeling so awkward.

When Yan Huan greeted him, Qin Jian nodded expressionlessly, acknowledging her.

Already feeling awkward, Yan Huan found Qin Jian’s cold demeanor even more uncomfortable.

Seeing Qin Jian’s unusual expression, An Hao nudged him and tiptoed closer to whisper in his ear, "Can you show a little emotion? Yan Huan looks really awkward."

Qin Jian turned to look at her, frowning slightly, "Didn’t you tell me to smile at only one woman from now on, and that’s you?"

An Hao: "..." He was just speaking casually, did he have to take it so literally?

After changing her clothes upstairs, An Hao was about to help out in the kitchen but got chased out by Zhang Yun.

Qin Jian, on the other hand, was pulled into a chess game by the two men, leaving Yan Huan and her as the only ones idle in the living room.

Yan Huan had heard about the incident of An Hao nearly falling down the stairs from Yan Ye.

He initially didn’t care about who Cheng Yu was, but Yan Huan told him that Cheng Yu was Cheng Yue’s sister.

That information made Yan Huan feel uneasy for several days.

There were some things she didn’t want to ask Yan Ye directly, but the question made her uncomfortable nonetheless.

So, she decided to probe indirectly to find out more about Cheng Yue.
