Chapter 216: Chapter 43 The River of Time and Space Shatters the Starry Sky
"Mr. Hill!" a voice called from downstairs at Snow Cloud Peak.
Hill stood up and peered down from the windowsill.
"Mr. Hill, we need to leave," Snow Cloud Peak said cheerily, "We’ve accepted a mission to protect Charles and Ramsden as they establish their own camp."
"What about the Capital?"
"Ah! The Doomsday mob went to the Capital; William ordered everyone from the Artisan Guild to scram. They must undergo faction testing, and members of the evil faction are to be killed," Snow Cloud Peak explained nonchalantly, "After all, a few dozens of people have died, destroying the livelihoods of thousands. Every faction involved has skewed off course.
The Doomsday group is still quite willing to kill people."
"Any news from the sea?"
Snow Cloud Peak showed a rare look of embarrassment, "It’s pretty safe over there, though we can’t breach the barrier. The demons aren’t very high-level, and though they are numerous, Mosaic the Demigod is now on good terms with them, so they are easy to handle."
Hill recalled the Young Master who had fought astride the back of Mosaic the Demigod, ah spit, the Embroidery Ridge Ripe Crabs Demigod, and it seemed he still hadn’t answered Snow Cloud Peak’s calls.
Perhaps it was only such a brainless, hot-blooded Young Master who would dare to do so? That crab was, after all, renowned as one of the top eight deadliest beasts!
Even Bex would dare not stand next to them, yet the Young Master even dared to sit on their back.
"Why protect those two idiots?" Fran asked indifferently from the side.
"Consider it a reward for not being stupid enough to cooperate with the Noble Temple against William," Snow Cloud Peak said bluntly, "This time, those who acted were the members of the Saral Royal Family who stayed in the country. It’s said that it was the princesses overseas who helped arrange it."
"Those princesses from Saral are barely neutral evil," Fran said, glancing at Hill, "There is a Princess Alliance with many country princesses involved, very chaotic, willing to do anything."
Hill blinked, "I don’t sympathize with people from the evil faction, they deserved to die."
Fran pursed her lips, and Hill noticed!
What was that supposed to mean?
But Fran didn’t intend to clarify for Hill, she merely instructed Snow Cloud Peak downstairs, "Don’t forget to track down those Archmages who just left."
"Their information has already been handed over to the permanent Undead Tribe in Obastian," Snow Cloud Peak said, blinking, "We’ve had our eye on them all along the way, and someone will take over once they get there."
Fran nodded, "Then you go on. I will stay here with Hill till the demon invasion ends. If you need anything, you can come directly to me."
Hill leaned out to see and nodded to the players waving goodbye from downstairs.
"Grandfather, why don’t you come stay with me at the Magic Tower?" Hill asked sincerely, "There’s no one else here now; let Marsha rearrange the downstairs floors."
"No." Fran shook his head, "I plan to set up a new Alchemy Factory line on the floors below here."
He said expressionlessly, "The King had many ideas in the past, but they were impossible to realize considering the workers’ lack of literacy.
Now, those workers should earnestly learn some knowledge for their livelihoods."
Fran was still very angry!
"Grandfather, if you need any materials just call on List," Hill said earnestly, "I have a complete collection of Wood-Earth materials, and plenty of Water Element too. The items you placed in Srei Store have also sold quite a bit, you can ask Srei to procure some specific materials, the Undead would surely agree to resell."
The items Fran placed in the store were sold under Hill’s name, and Srei straightforwardly put them in his own warehouse.
Hill knew this was Fran’s way of apologizing for the inconvenience caused to him, but the original instigator of this trouble was himself!
Hill felt that he should bear the continued consequences and sidetracks arising during the problem-solving process.
It’s just that Fran always overprotected him.
Fran understood what Hill meant and gently patted his shoulder, nodding in agreement.
"Mr. Hill!" another shout came from downstairs.
Hill reluctantly peeked out to see it was people from Black Rose.
"Mr. Hill, could we come here every day to purify?" The Perfect Bald, grinning with squinted eyes so cutely, always incited Hill to swear at him.
"Speak normally, don’t scare people like that," Hill couldn’t help but retort, "As you wish, don’t you have priests?"
"Black Rose now has two hundred thousand people, only about twenty thousand priests," Baldy tugged at his ponytail, reverting to a manly voice, "We’re now heading to Black and White Path’s instance daily, fighting demons along the way. Most priests are committed there. That Underground City, no new priests are willing to go."
"Though the two Purification Arrays you made have been found, Ink Brush and others found a way to move them to our domain. But hundreds of thousands people? It’s just not enough." He suddenly laughed, "Ink Brush even begged, looking pitiful, our family’s priests felt sympathy and just stayed."
"We thought, since we’re old friends, Mr. Hill, if we could use your place, we’d come here to purify when we’re back on the surface, not vying with them for space! And we always need to check if there’s anything good here!"
Hill smiled and nodded, and the happy Baldy dashed towards the store.
"Why don’t they go south to fight demons?" Fran, watching coldly, asked Hill, "I remember they are quite a significant family in the Undead too."
