Chapter 208: Chapter 39: The Portal Opens: The Abyssal Gate

Hill watched the bragging Snow Old Dog with a sudden realization of why he could only be a map drawer.

Smooth-talking, shameless, and ruthlessly cunning, even if his skills fell short of others, it actually didn’t make much difference.

Indeed, only such people could succeed in climbing the ranks!

As for lacking skills, just look at Old Cat, lazy as a salted fish, yet brazenly challenging everyone, wanting to drag Snow Cloud Peak into the arena for a good beating—it was quite revealing.

Snow Cloud Peak, fearless as ever, just smiled and said, "Yell all you want, if you can get me in there with you, then you’ve got the skill."

"Old Dog, show some dignity!" Rain Falling on Mortal Dust stood up and said, "At least look around. Hill’s still over there."

"Ah! Mr. Hill." With an unchanged face, Snow Cloud Peak instantly flew over, all smiles, and asked, "I heard from Mr. Adrian that you’ve received quite a lot of materials for refining high-level Alchemy Huts? Wondering if you have any finished products?"

"Are you guys thinking of building a city again?" Hill asked nonchalantly.

"Yes! William has allowed us to build Sea City and South City," Snow Cloud Peak said straightforwardly, "We have many families that still don’t own cities! But besides the cities rewarded for military exploits, those built with a Territory Order will be attacked."

Hill said confusedly, "Then why build so many? Don’t you have a lot of families on your side already?"

"Mr. Hill," Snow Cloud Peak said earnestly, "if they weren’t determined to earn their stripes, they wouldn’t have established their own families! We are an alliance; we only have a common enemy to oppose, and beyond that, each family decides for itself.

I have enough on my plate managing the Magic Cult; I have no plans to rule supreme.

Unless it’s a major group battle, we just give our allies a heads-up about any good opportunities.

If we’re being attacked, we can call on our allies for help, but whether they come depends on their availability."

Hill nodded silently, "I will release Srei for you to find him; I’ve been keeping all the recent creations with him."

"That’s great," an overjoyed Snow Cloud Peak said, "Better those guys scram early, always causing trouble."

Hill had nothing to say to this old dog revealing his true thoughts.

Hill nodded, "I’ll place Srei’s shop next to the church; you do as you please."

After exchanging nods with the players, Hill headed straight back to the Magic Tower to pick up Srei’s small building, turned it into a sailboat, and then flew to the church.

Standing at the bow of the ship, Hill twitched the corners of his mouth. Snow Cloud Peak’s charisma was impressive – within just a few minutes, the square was a sea of heads.

Hill quickly set down Srei’s small building and converted it fully into shop mode. Just as he was about to take off back to his Magic Tower, he halted.

He floated in the air, silently looking towards the South.

Fran also appeared with furrowed brows, intently staring at the distant South: "The Abyssal Gates, they’re all open!"

The players below were also shouting: "Those from the Black and White Path! Hurry back to your territories! The underground passages are being breached!"

"Old Dog, is one help request to the Black and White Path enough?" Rain Falling on Mortal Dust asked.

"That’s enough. Ink Brush said his Abyssal Gate hasn’t been repaired yet; the ones that were hiding in other places are now coming out as well," Snow Cloud Peak shouted, "Others, hurry up with your shopping; those wanting military exploits, teleport to the South right away.

"Black Rose and mages of the Magic Cult, stay behind; there’s work to do here!"

After considering for a while in the air, he said, "Priests are the main force against demons. Those wanting military exploits, get more priests involved, especially those little misses who disdain the ugliness of demons – act cuter, say some sweet things!"

He suddenly cursed, "The demons on Noah’s side have charged straight towards Cortez’s border!"

Hill glanced at Fran.

"Looks like, there was indeed collusion with the demons!" Fran said stiffly, "Was the determination made through the naval battle that His Majesty the King had passed on?"

Before he finished speaking, a burst of golden light suddenly erupted in the East, and although the distance was too great to tell what the attack was, Divine Power was distinctly evident.

"We’ve lost contact with the ship!" Old Cat rushed out and shouted to the two in the air, "The only message we got was, an unforeseen event, Divine Power barrier, duration unknown!"

Snow Cloud Peak shouted, "Phone the Young Master! Are there any Wenjian people here?"

Fran and Hill were both keenly watching the Undead Tribe’s moves, hoping for some good news.

"The Young Master’s not picking up!!! Try calling someone else!" someone yelled.

Snow Cloud Peak, with hands on his hips, began to rant furiously mid-air, belittling the Young Master’s intelligence from head to toe.

During his brief pause to breathe, Rain Falling on Mortal Dust took the opportunity to quickly speak, "You knew they were hopeless when you took them in, so why the hell are you pissed! Get to work instead of wasting your breath here."

"Sweetheart’s answered the phone, they’re okay!" someone shouted from below, breaking into the exchange between the two.

"How are they?" asked Snow Cloud Peak, "Who’s attacking them?"

"Demons! Those demigods deliberately trapped them there," the person panted, "Although a Divine Power barrier has completely cut off the space, three demigods, including Mosaic, are trapped in there too, fighting the demons with them!

"There won’t be any reinforcements, but they’re not in great danger either.

It’s just a timed quest."

"What’s the Young Master doing?" Snow Cloud Peak still wouldn’t give up asking.

"Hmm~" Clearly someone from Wenjian hesitated for a while before saying, "He’s struck up a relationship with the Mosaic demigod and is now fighting on the demigod’s back! He’s gone berserk! Sweetheart said, don’t bother him anymore, it’s useless!"
