Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 206 - 38: The Mad Sonata

Chapter 206: Chapter 38: The Mad Sonata

Adrian ran to the vicinity of the protective screen, imitated the Undead Tribe, and struck several poses.

A few players giggled and helped him take good pictures, and they even used the Transcription Technique to print out several copies, giving them to Adrian.

Adrian, with a beaming smile, held the photos and looked at them proudly for a while, then contentedly stored them in his ring.

On the other side, as Fran watched, his aura became increasingly tense and deadly.

Hill watched with trepidation, not daring to say a word; he really wanted to run away.

Fortunately, List appeared in time and broke the stagnant atmosphere in the room.

"Mr. Snow Cloud Peak has taken people with him," List said, seeming to notice that something was amiss, his expression very serious, "He sent back a message; they split into two groups. A lively younger group followed that older Female Mage to Prince Charles’s side.

The other group, the seductive and sexy ones, went with that man to Duke Ramsden’s place."

Only then did Hill come to a stunned realization: Edward was dead, and Ramsden, not being a Prince anymore, could only be addressed by his noble title.

Fortunately, when Edward succeeded to the throne, in order to appease his son agitated by Helen’s rebellion, he had granted him the position of a Duke; otherwise, Ramsden, still wandering, wouldn’t have even had a title.

Hill turned his head to glance at Fran, whose attention had now shifted to this conversation.

"Charles, he’s always liked this kind." Fran nodded, "I don’t know about Ramsden, but he’s always had a good relationship with the Noble Temple, so they definitely know his preferences."

"Then why come here, to stop by?" Hill was somewhat perplexed.

"Of course, it’s because having you on board will be more beneficial than both of them combined," Fran sighed helplessly. "Hill, your identity as a Nature Warlock holds great allure for the Temples."

"Why? The Natural Consciousness favors me, but outsiders can’t see that, can they?"

"Even if they can’t see it, as a human Nature Warlock, you must have been favored by nature to advance so easily," Fran shook his head. "It’s only because the Undead Tribe are in the forefront and the other Temples have to consider His Majesty the King’s face, or else your place would have been filled with all sorts of visitors a long time ago."

"The Legendary would have intervened," Fran said gravely. "Those favored by the Natural Consciousness, the World Consciousness will also lean towards them a bit."

Hill uncontrollably thought of William, the Son of Fortune.

"Of course, now that His Majesty the King is here," Fran added, "you might not receive much favor, but at least, you’d be fortunate enough to draw envy."

It seemed that the Gods of Time and Space and the World Consciousness were intertwined and this was already taken for granted by everyone.

"What do they want a Nature Warlock for?" Hill changed the subject and asked.

"For the Deities, especially those in belief of deification. Success and failure both depend on believers," Fran said with a cold smile. "Only nature is eternal. Having Nature Warlock believers is almost like having an anchor in nature."

Hill tilted his head slightly: "If one believes in a deity, can they still be considered a Nature Warlock?"

"If nature loves a person, unless they’re hurt, nature won’t change its mind easily," Fran lamented. "This is a message from the Elves. It seems the Temples have also confirmed this."

"And they don’t need you to be too devout," Fran continued slowly, "as long as you recite the Name of God every day, it means a lot to them. Alas, only heartfelt recitations work, otherwise, the Elves would be captured in vain."

Hill lowered his head: "So they sent women to tempt me?"

"You were raised by Mages, and you’re an Alchemist wielding untold wealth," Fran said with a sneer. "What benefits could they offer to make you abandon the free life of a Mage and choose to enter the Temple and be bound?

Only your children have a chance.

If you really fall for a woman, soon you’ll have countless similar women flocking to you, enough to make you sick."

Hill silently lowered his head: his pure romance had completely flown away.

Even if a girl who truly shared his affections did appear, what was the point of romance after thoroughly investigating her background?

"Has Adrian truly gone mad?" Fran looked at the giant screen and squeezed the words out through gritted teeth.

Hill abruptly looked up to see Adrian flying up to the top of the protective shield, placing one hand where the Octopus Demigod’s claw was smashing down.

He seemed to be imitating the players, wanting to take a photo of himself high-fiving the Octopus Demigod.

Hill watched Adrian on the screen, laughing wildly, turned his head silently, and didn’t look at Fran’s livid face. Although the nature of a Magister could easily disperse, Adrian had gone a bit overboard in his display.

He had the people of Miller’s Legend watching his back after all.

"The protective shield’s light has dimmed a bit," Fran said sternly. "List, contact Adrian through the Undead Tribe and tell him to hide, to stop playing around!"

Hill quietly listened as Fran’s tone grew heavier and watched as List instantly appeared: "We’ve contacted the Youth Journey of the Wenjian World; they’ve reached out to Honey Peach Heart."

Adrian had already been called down on the giant screen; his face changed dramatically as he pointed at Honey Sweetheart, who had been shooting all along: "Can this also be transmitted to Hill’s Domain?"

Honey Peach Heart, holding the stiff Adrian, quickly hid back in their earlier hiding spot before casually saying, "Sweetheart’s live stream is very famous, you know! If Mr. Hill really likes watching live streams, he should see it."
