Chapter 186: Chapter 28 The Arrival of the Sea Monster Demigod_2

Hill lived a leisurely life that was occasionally troubled, unaware that Bex was having a bit of trouble because of his Space Box.

Bex cried, missing the beautiful large box that had been robbed by the elders of his tribe who had come to observe the Undead Tribe at the seaside.

Bex’s presence was easily driven off by Hill, who knew that Hill intended to use this box to store items traded with him, but Bex still decided to brazenly stay.

At a glance, Hill looked like a pampered son of a rich family from the human world. Any mage who had dealt with sea monsters knew that they were in great need of such beautiful things that wouldn’t decay in the seawater.

And it was so practical! It could almost fit all of Bex’s belongings.

When trading with human mages, they knew to use those huge metal boxes, which were hideously ugly. Except for the weak magical beasts that used them as nests, nobody liked them.

But Hill’s box was different; it was glittering with gems and beset with gemstones. Moreover, it was carefully refined, completely unafraid of the erosion of seawater.

Bex adored it immensely, displaying it every day for viewing, so much so that he didn’t even notice a high-level sea monster had come from the deep sea!

Fortunately, those delicious items that Hill had given Bex were kept inside his shell, afraid of being touched by seawater, or else they would have been swept away.

Bex watched mournfully and played with the old relics in the box with his claws, hoping that old bastard would go to the Undead Tribe and take a beating.

So what if he was a demigod, even stronger than a legendary being?

If they pulled that human king over, wouldn’t he still have to skulk back home in defeat?

Bex certainly didn’t think that a demigod could be much stronger than a legendary figure holding a Divine Artifact.

"Bex," a huge whale called him in a voice he thought was lowered, "where did you buy this box from? What did you exchange for it? And can you still buy more?"

Seeing various legendary beings of different races swarm around and that old rascal who seemed to be admiring the box but sneakily glancing over, Bex could only swallow the curse words he had in mind, "If you trouble the Undead Tribe in the city, I won’t be able to trade with him.

He lives beyond that mountain. We all trade through the Undead Tribe."

"What did you use?"

"Pearls, Ice Lilies, Amber, Coral, and some shells," Bex fumed, as if those delectable treats had never existed!

The shell stuff was required by human legendary mages who came to trade, and everyone was well aware of it.

Stuffing a box with pearls was a given, but the other three as well? The best Bex could offer were mage-level sea monster shells, and for such a bargain? This mage, one could deal with!

The sea monsters all looked at the demigod leader: how about we don’t start fighting just yet?

With a demigod and a bunch of legends emitting massive elemental fluctuations, they weren’t far enough from the shore for humans to be completely unaware. In the city, Spencer, the City Lord, had already been summoned to the Magic Tower.

Watching the Archmages who didn’t want to be responsible, Spencer had no choice but to return to his Lord’s Mansion and contact the King far away.

"Spencer?" William quickly answered the communicator, "What’s the matter?"

"A lot of high-level sea monsters have arrived, and the mages suspect there’s a demigod," Spencer said solemnly.

"Just keep your own life safe," William said irresponsibly, "leave the rest to the Undead Tribe. The underground refuge is finished, right?"

"I don’t have to worry about anything?" Spencer was almost shocked, what was the point in having me come here then?

"No need to worry. If we can’t beat them, the Undead Tribe will call for help," William said with a smile, "activate the Mage Tower’s automatic defense, and those Archmages who don’t want to stay can leave. If they don’t want to leave, they can go to the refuge with you."

"Then what am I sticking around for?" Spencer barely kept himself under control, almost impolitely questioning His Majesty the King, "Sit in the refuge and watch the excitement?"

"No!" William pretended to be shocked, "How could you think that? You’re there, of course, to distribute supplies to the Undead Tribe!

They’ve got to have a place to exchange their Military Exploits, right?"

Spencer almost choked on the curse he nearly swallowed: So my purpose is to be a delivery man?

"My dear cousin, dear Naven," William continued with a smile, "if it wasn’t for you, that group of the Undead might just run off with the supplies. They always have more schemes than solutions, and they are bolder than heaven itself."

Naven Spencer sighed helplessly, "Yes, ever since Queen Spencer finally ascended to godhood, as a family of divine lineage, they are shrouded with God’s favor. Anyone daring to kill them would have to face divine thunders striking down from the heavens."

On the other hand, the Saral Royal Family, Young William did not choose to shelter them. He extended his protection to the Spencer Family instead.

Naven reluctantly agreed but still asked, "If things really go south, you’ll come back, won’t you?"

"Of course!" William replied without a second thought. "The demon issue? It’s not up to me to watch; how foolish are those nations to begin with?"

Naven really felt that the decision by his family to let him interact more with William due to their similar age had doomed him.

If he hadn’t known William’s true nature and merely observed from afar, he would have always looked up to William with admiration.

But William seemed tired of pretending in public. When he was with a few relatives and friends who knew the truth, he often let loose.

Even after ascending to the throne, his demeanor remained the same, as if he was on the verge of soaring into the starry sky.

During his time with William, he had also interacted with the God of Time and Space. That earnest person didn’t seem to be the same as William at all!

Yes, unlike other worlds and the souls counterpart to the God of Time and Space, William was the largest soul shard that the original God of Time and Space had severed from himself, thinking he might dissipate completely, and thrown back into his original world.

After the God replenished His own soul, He sensed the death of the shard and went to that world. Upon seeing the God, William’s soul remembered everything.

However, without having endured the long torment and slumber in The River of Time and Space and having lived a completely new life, William’s temperament was utterly different from that of the God of Time and Space.

The end result was what it is now, both not wanting to be changed by the other, with no desire to merge again.

If it weren’t for carrying the essence of this world, William would not have been able to replace Young William and live so comfortably.

Naven could not help but sigh. Well, he thought, let’s just do as William says.

Thankfully, the Archmages of the Magic Tower, although not daring to take responsibility, were not foolish enough to leave His Majesty the King’s cousin to face danger alone.

The Spencers dispatched everyone below the rank of Grand Knight to other cities.

After all, he was accustomed to running an exchange point in a shelter.

After moving to the shelter, Spencer issued a warning about the Undead Tribe in the city.

As William predicted, these Undead, almost instantly excited, called friends and filled the city in no time.

Some of these Undead even brought small boats that sailed in rivers, preparing to take those out to sea.

Spencer stared at the few large ships in his supply warehouse, speechless for a long time.

He had always thought that these ships, despite being sturdy, were unsellable for being neither fast nor able to fly, but William had insisted they be brought in, so he had complied.

Again, he told himself that William had only the flaw of a sharp tongue; setting that aside, what a powerful and wise king he was!

Having discussed for a day, the sea monsters still felt they couldn’t tolerate humans building cities by the sea.

Even though the Sea God’s grievance had been avenged, humans were still untrustworthy; who knew what they might do if allowed to stay long.

Bex, looking at their decision, displayed an attitude as if saying, "The box is gone, and I am now in shutdown mode."

Most of the high-level sea monsters felt Bex’s behavior was understandable. Although the demigod had given him ample compensation, those things could be accumulated by anyone in a few years—the Space Box was one of a kind.

The demigod too thought that Bex’s strength wasn’t necessary; it was better to just charge forward with the other sea monsters.

Bex lay atop the seaweed, tail pointed towards the direction the large group was heading until all the sea monsters had departed before slowly turning around.

After all, that kin of his who was a demigod probably wouldn’t die; as for the other races, what did it matter to him?

Daring to barge into his territory under the pretense of being a demigod and even wanting the contact method for Hill, what a dream!

Bex lay comfortably and smiled, waiting for the great battle to end.
