Chapter 179: Chapter 25 Bex’s Letter_2
Although it might have been a tough mental struggle, given that the box wouldn’t open, the players still delivered the items to Hill’s territory on the same evening.
As soon as they stepped out of the Teleportation Array, they saw the words ’Undead Tribe Reception’ and hesitantly walked in, only to find a player lying leisurely on a lounge chair, staring at a large screen outside the window.
"Since we’re all players, I won’t get up," Old Cat said slowly, "Is there something important?"
"We took on a mission by the seaside, a delivery for Mr. Hill," Set Sail for Adventure replied.
"Ah?" Old Cat sat up, "Which faction are you guys from? You need to have a friendly reputation to enter here."
"Wenjian."
"Wenjian members really do get around!" Old Cat exclaimed.
"We’re from the Shipbuilding University," Sad North Ocean said, "and we don’t plan to leave the seaside."
"Then why would you join Wenjian?" Old Cat was surprised.
"There are so many students in Wenjian! What you usually see are only the crazier ones," Set Sail for Adventure said gloomily, "Back then, someone in the University Town was advertising, and that young master spoke very convincingly. There were no restrictions for students’ families.
No need for restrictions, ’Youth Journey of the Wenjian World’ speaks for itself, doesn’t it? How many guilds would dare poach? It’s pretty much synonymous with a Chuunibyou Teenager base."
"Young master, got more money than you know what to do with?" Old Cat muttered, tapping his tablet to summon List.
"Deputy Mayor Old Cat, is there something you need?" List appeared in an instant.
"They’re here to deliver a message to Hill."
"Good day, gentlemen," List said solemnly, "May I know who sent the message?"
"A sea turtle," Set Sail for Adventure handed over the small box.
"Ah, it’s Mr. Bex," List called a puppet over and instructed it to deliver the box to the Magic Tower immediately.
"Thank you for your help," List then summoned another puppet holding a small chest, "Please accept this token of gratitude."
List began chatting with the players, inquiring how they encountered Bex and the situation by the seaside.
Hill stared at the small box delivered to his hand, lost in thought.
Why would Bex suddenly send something over, had something happened?
He carefully cast several Detect Magic spells to ensure there were no poisons or traps, before gently opening the box.
Inside were colorful Spiral Pearls and in the middle of them, a golden conch spiraled with silver lines all around it.
Hill first picked up the Spiral Pearls. Anything Bex spared came from Magical Beast Conchs, such a colorful collection in a box was something even legend might have never seen.
Hill thought of the Purification Fountain in his valley, even though Water Crystals could absorb the power of Tide Dance Moon Welcoming spells, keeping the effect for at least a month, if he added these Spiral Pearls, he wouldn’t need to replenish the spells as often.
Spiral Pearls had one of the highest amplification and absorption effects for Water Spells among water materials.
But the Magical Beast Conchs were very elusive, and humans could only get them by sheer luck.
Only a sea turtle like Bex, who lived long enough, would have such a large number of Spiral Pearls.
Hill’s eyes shimmered slightly: Bex was cunning, he wouldn’t give Hill the best pearls he had.
Regardless of his intentions, Hill was willing to continue trading with him.
He carefully picked up the Transmission Conch, inspecting it closely.
It seemed Bex truly had something to discuss, as this conch was of a high level, one that could nearly be used once a fortnight.
These kinds of Transmission Conchs usually came in pairs, and it was probably the only kind in the conch world that wouldn’t be crushed alive by hunters, but if high-level sea monsters discovered them, the chances of survival were the lowest.
Probably a pair of unfortunate high-level Transmission Conchs had been discovered by Bex. Tasty and mana-rich, even their remains were useful; Bex wouldn’t hesitate to chase them for thousands of miles.
Hill turned to look outside: Had List finished inquiring?
Half an hour later, List appeared and briefly described the situation in the Eastern Sea.
A large number of Undead with naval aspirations had already gathered in the city manned by Spencer.
Perhaps due to strong elemental fluctuations, there were always dimwitted sea monsters attacking.
Recently, a legendary octopus was disassembled, and a bustling ’Hundred Ways to Eat Octopus’ mega event was held.
Now, high-level sea monsters were no longer seen near that city.
Of course, most of the Undead there now had no desire to venture into the deep ocean.
They just pottered around the shallow seas, learning to swim, learning to dive.
Meanwhile, they studied shipbuilding.
They even complained that the ships sold by Fran’s Territory were too expensive and unaffordable.
Hill shook his head, resigned. Once players spent a few more years getting their affairs in order on land, and if the number of missions decreased, there would definitely be some who would squander their money on ships for their journeys.
Finally, List said, "I’ve arranged for Deputy Mayor Old Cat to entertain those Undead for a while, as they may need to reply to your message."
Hill gently infused his mana into the Transmission Conch, and the silver threads started twinkling with light. He held the conch to his ear.
"Hill?" Bex made contact with him promptly.
"It’s me," Hill said smiling, "Mr. Bex, long time no see."
"A very long time," Bex said tersely, "Any longer, and you might only see my shell."
