Chapter 157: Chapter 16 The Battle to Capture the Abyssal Gate
Hill looked up at the window, raised his eyebrows slightly, smiled as he stood up, and cleared the best viewing spot in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, setting up a sofa and coffee table with drinks and snacks.
He jumped to the entrance of the Lord’s Mansion and smiled quietly at Fran and Adrian in front of him: "Grandfather, Uncle Adrian, good evening."
Hill could feel Fran’s spiritual power scanning him from head to toe like an X-ray.
Then Fran nodded his head in satisfaction and said no more.
Adrian was very pleased and said, "Little Hill has improved again, which is really good! It wasn’t in vain after all!"
"Traveling is indeed useful," Fran said softly. "But, be more cautious next time; there’s no need to take unnecessary risks."
Hill quickly nodded in agreement: "Don’t worry, Grandfather. I will be more careful on my next journey.
Let’s go upstairs to the study! The view is better there."
"Good, sit down first and watch.
Hill, do you think they’ll reveal the true nature of the battle from the Abyss? I came back as soon as I heard about it.
After this is over, we’ll talk more," Fran settled into the sofa, focused on the large screen: "The miracles triggered by the Deities, sometimes, an Alchemist’s imagination can’t even keep up.
I wish I could see the other worlds as well!"
Hill silently nodded, realizing that the mages of this world had already agreed that the things William and the God of Time and Space created were indeed from other worlds.
Truly, the fact that the Undead Tribe could use them without a second thought showed they were commonplace in their daily lives.
Hill too quietly settled down and looked up at the large screen.
The introductory segment had passed, and the main feature began.
The knights who burst out to fight the demons, braving the demons’ attacks alongside their comrades’ spells and wielding a Giant Shield, fought to secure a foothold for their side.
The three rows of knights holding Giant Shields, if one fell, those behind would quickly and silently fill in, no one backing down, no one hesitating.
In the midst of a raging Blizzard, amidst the flashes of blades and swords and even smeared with the blue-green blood of demons, they resolutely faced the threat without blinking, a sight so awe-inspiring.
After all, they were no longer facing just Magical Beasts and humans but bizarrely shaped, massive and ferocious demons.
Accompanied by the incredibly stirring symphony, Fran and Adrian watched intently.
But Hill could only silently bow his head, hiding his urge to laugh: This editing is quite good! Why not incorporate Old Dog Snow’s cursing from back then?
Anyone who has played online games knows how impressive it is to have everyone use the same skill simultaneously. To think about keeping formations and marching in sync? It’s not like they’re fleeing and can follow along.
Knight’s raid then defense, Swordsmen risking their lives to follow suit, jumping into the fray to fight to the death with demons, Priests following behind Magicians advancing and casting spells—the scene lasted only about ten minutes.
Hill seriously doubted such orderly, stirring scenes, as they could only edit out so much footage, considering the chaotic scenes and Snow Cloud Peak’s screams of fury that Hill remembered so vividly.
That they managed to edit these ten minutes of footage at all is a testament to the editors’ good eye.
The footage showed Swordsmen and Magicians, along with the Priests, jumping down a tunnel and splitting into two groups. The small squad inside the 2-meter high mountain tunnel moved silently, while the larger team above left a trail of demon carcasses and pools of blue-green blood, struggling all the way.
Hill undistractedly watched until the end of this segment, featuring the Abyssal Gate.
In the huge cavern where the Abyssal Gate was located, hundreds of thousands of demons had gathered, waiting for this team daring to challenge the Abyss.
"It’s been tens of thousands of years, and this is the first time people below Legendary status can see this gate so clearly," Fran suddenly said. "Keep the design of the gate in mind."
"The Undead Tribe has the Transcription Technique, I will ask them to transcribe it exactly from this recording," Hill said directly.
Thinking of that Transcription Technique, Fran shook his head helplessly: "Their Alchemy Formulas, the composition of their Magic Arrays—they transcribe far too easily.
Not just apprentices, even Mages are a bit overwhelmed."
It seemed Fran had also witnessed the players’ projection transcription techniques.
The players rushed out of the cavern and surrounded the Mages and Priest Corps in the middle, forming a Circular Formation.
The command vehicle at the center of the formation was Yunfeng’s. He, with a dashing presence, stood on the vehicle, waving his hand to lead.
The camera kept switching, and Hill saw the faces of Young Master and Perfect Bald, even though they were two good-looking youngsters smeared with demon blood, their stern expressions while standing at the forefront earned respect.
Hill noticed that Mobi Chenxin was standing near the command vehicle, surrounded by Magicians.
Downstairs, Old Cat shouted, "Did they hire professionals for this edit? Even the Young Master looks respectable!"
Hill deeply agreed, firmly controlling himself not to nod along.
The demons had no intention of giving them time to get organized; almost as soon as the players’ vanguard entered the cavern, they began their frantic attack.
"Black Rose! Raise the Shield Wall!" bellowed Yunfeng, as Perfect Bald, leading his guild’s knights, neatly raised their giant shields.
"Good, 3, 2, 1. Black Rose, go!" Yunfeng continued to shout, "Magic Cult, follow! Keep up, those behind!"
