Chapter 126: Chapter 2 The Flag Isn’t Raised for Nothing
"Don’t let your people touch it!" Hill shouted as he quickly stood up, "Stay away from it."
"They won’t listen to me," Mobi Chenxin replied directly, "Even our own allies might take a few swipes out of curiosity. I’ve called for Snow Cloud Peak, but... we might not be able to control them.
Even if the Alliance members obey, there are still many Scattered Ones! And there are enemies too, they might hit us even more."
Hill was speechless and choked up.
"Didn’t you block enemy teleportation? Did they run here on their own?"
"Every time they hit one of us, we lose one experience point. For that reason alone, they would risk running here again to cause us trouble."
Hill couldn’t help but sigh.
"What about William?" Hill hoped William would pay attention and called out his name, "Hasn’t he sent anyone over?"
"William’s still in Cortez!" said Mobi Chenxin irritably, "I reported it, he awarded a bunch of Military Exploits, and then assigned a guard duty.
He said there’s still time, and he’ll send scouts from Kexlote when he’s back.
If it hadn’t been for our reluctance to give away the experience to those fools, with the rate we’ve been slaying these past few days, we might not have even noticed the door opening."
"You arrange for defense!" Hill flew towards Adrian’s shop, "I don’t know if it’s just the door here that’s loosening, other territories should be alert as well!"
"Mr. Hill?" Two apprentices who were selling goods asked as they looked at Hill.
"Close the shop," Hill said briefly, "Where are the other two? Call them over! Teleport directly to my territory."
Adrian had told them to follow Hill’s commands on important matters, so the two apprentices quickly made haste.
minutes later, four people were ready with their belongings and stood at the shop’s entrance. After closing the main door, the lead apprentice handed the keys to Hill: "Mr. Adrian said to give the keys to you if anything happened."
Hill took the keys and led the group straight to the church.
"Should we call those two as well?" the lead apprentice asked.
"I’ll deal with it, you guys hurry on," Hill said as he looked at the apprentice who was still thinking of reminding him, "If something happens, you might lose your lives."
The apprentices sped up their pace as Hill ushered them into the Teleportation Array.
The number of players was rapidly increasing, it seemed that Black and White Path had called for help.
Hill didn’t continue to watch and turned to find Miss Carl.
"Mr. Polanio?" Miss Carl, sipping her fruit wine and sitting elegantly by a small table with a white cloth next to the flower beds, asked, "What brings you here? It’s rare for you to come to my place."
"It could be an Abyss invasion," Hill said, not in the mood for a verbal duel with her, "You’d better prepare yourself, or leave immediately."
Ignoring the panic-stricken and astonished Miss Carl, who was rising to her feet exclaiming, "Wait, how is that possible? Where? Do you have any evidence?" and other such clamor, Hill turned to notify Luis.
The Archmage responded promptly, quickly gathering his things and preparing to flee.
Before he left, he said to Hill, "Thank you very much for the notification.
Mr. Hensley had mentioned that if there were no new Magical Beasts for a while, we could head back.
I just wanted to wait a few more days.
Lucky for me that you alerted me," he graciously performed a Mage Ceremony, "I’m leaving now, and I hope you stay safe too."
Hill saw a horde of players rush into the Lord’s Mansion: "Put down the Crystal Stones! Put them down!"
"Hurry! Drop as many as you have! *&* Doomsday, quickly finish off our grudges!"
"We’re killing them now! We’re killing them now!"
"What about the Scattered Ones?"
"As soon as we start the fight, they bail out."
"Watch the Evil Value! Don’t *&%* fall in level."
Oh, so red-named players drop levels when they die, huh!
"Kill one and switch out!"
Lucky they’re a PVP guild? Hill thought somewhat relieved: Fighting so much, their coordination is pretty high.
He ignored the chaos of the players turned upside down, returning to his own shop.
Hill looked up and thought for a moment, then took out the necklace pendant made of a Tortoise Shell, tentatively placing the entire shop into it.
Focusing his spiritual power on the inside of the pendant, he saw Srei standing at the shop door, looking around.
This would make escaping much easier! Hill thought satisfied: he was just worried about not having enough time to dismantle Srei’s Core in an emergency!
"Mr. Hill!"
"What is it?" Hill looked at the anxious Snow Cloud Peak.
"All shops are closed! Yours isn’t opening either?" Snow Cloud Peak said, "I’m worried about having to defend for too long, not having enough supplies.
What if the Teleportation Array can’t be used?"
Holding the keys in his hand, Hill replied, "I’m going to the front to open Shop."
He communicated with the pendant through his spirit, and Srei could hear it; that would suffice.
Watching Srei direct the Puppets to move various supplies outside the small building, Hill opened the door to the grocery store.
The shelves still displayed various goods, and the upstairs warehouse was also intact, the apprentices had only taken the various materials they bought with them.
If Adrian gave him the keys, it meant Hill could definitely use the Core of the shop.
Indeed, Hill’s name was on the main control list.
Snow Cloud Peak watched Hill activate the Core, and the Puppets got back to work, heaving a sigh of relief.
"Mr. Hill, those Chef Puppets of yours are really useful," he began, "Paintbrush placed a few in the Lord’s Mansion, and they can handle the food for tens of thousands of people."
That’s because you guys have plenty of Crystal Stones. Hill thought, otherwise, even a mage might not afford a single Puppet.
Just as when the apprentices were present, they’d only have one Puppet working outside.
The Crystal Stones they saved were very valuable to them, so of course, they preferred to do more work themselves.
